    Hi All,

I am wondering what coolant I should use. I am in Ireland so maybe they have different terminology over here, but the two options I have are Silicate based, which I think is old-school, and OAT (Organic Acid Technology), which I think is the Silicate-free "New" coolant.

Which one do you all think I should go with?

    Thanks!

I'm running the blue Honda car coolant, it's the same specs as the Honda motorcycle coolant, and costs less as I have a brother at the dealership :smile-new:

I just run Prestone extended life. Silicate free, available everywhere. 50/50 premixed. (Over here at least)

The refrigerant must be for aluminum engines.

Safe for aluminum and absolutely SILICATE free. They are not necessarily the same thing. There are safe for aluminum that contain silicate. We must be silicate free. Since you only have to do it every two years ish, I just use the Honda coolant. While you're at it, you can throw in about 10 capfuls of water wetter.

You can use almost any coolant, make sure it is SILICATE-FREE as its safe for alloy engines. I personally use the Toyota long life coolant only because the rubber hoses are made buy the same maker as Toyota OEM "Yamazaki"
