Nice read Micky.. too bad it was wet out huh. good to hear your take on it ,funny you mention vfr owners as a target, then brought in the price factor which is IMO kinda like WHat are you thinking Honda, I feel the same as would I spend that knowing what I know. I'll definitely need to take one for a spin. LOL then I see BLACK! WT.... didn't see that one coming.

Revguy, it is a great bike. What I'm not sure about is whether existing VFR owners will meet that price for an upgrade to the great bikes they already have.

There's one at KW Honda in Waterloo Ontario, for anyone in the area that wants to see one in person.

A friend who works at a Honda shop spotted this at the race at COTA a couple weeks ago. Interesting paint & accessories. He says it's the new VFR, but it looks different. Is this a new 1200?

Actually, after years in the VFR community I can say that the reviews are practically glowing considering how the vifferati usually respond to ANY change.

Damn, another white one. they're following me. ;) This reminds me of the guy here and VFRD that custom made up a one of ,very well done and thought of white 5th gen into the bike it should have been in the first place. That VFR was a hit. Now my mind escapes me in who that was? Putting his bike next to this one would be interesting.

Damn white wheels to boot. wonder if Honda took a look ;) awfully close resemblance. less the Ohlins. again which Honda should have picked up on. Ok back on track, dealer now says it's looking like August before they're here :( shit that leaves onlt a month or so of decent riding.. sheeesh!

I was down at the dealers today getting some new Carb isolators and they had one in the show room. All I can say is Damn it's even nicer in person then the pic's on the net, other then being the slower red color and almost $15,000 cdn. Asked the salesman if we can get the standard not the deluxe and he said no we only get the deluxe in Canada.

Nether of them have fully adjustable suspension or usd forks, so who cares? I'd rather just swap it out for actual modern forks.

Yea that suspension thing is a downer, you'd thought for the money it would have top notch sexy legs. that and $13.9K is what they saying for em here, we'll see, that's a stretch considering. For a third of that, one can hunt down a clean 5th gen. Still need to see one and take it for a spin.

    I like that "vifferati" LOL

So did you get an invite to come ride the new beast and offer your opinion as you did with the 2010?

So are we calling this bike an 8th gen or is a 6.5 since it shares so much with the 6th gen machines?

The discussion about suspension is interesting too a sit seems like the 7th gen had a more advanced setup than the new bike. The VFR always suffered from suspension picked up off the discount shop counter but through decent spring rates and damping it managed ok for a bike that was expected to fulfill a multitude of roles. A fresh VFR could always play with the sharper machines when in good hands and I think that the average VFR rider is a solid rider. Pure speculation on my part but IMHO the VFR is the choice of the thinking man and the thinking man rides well, respects others and falls off less.
