Well my daughter Chantal has been after me for awhile now to take her for a ride on the bike. Her brother Liam has accumulated a number of miles as passenger and today, while I was letting the bike run for a bit after doing an oil change and reassembling, she took the opportunity to pretend to go on a trip. She had wanted to sit on the bike after I had washed and dried it, and started it to let it run for a bit to circulate things and get the oil burned off the header where the dang filter drips on it. I walked in to the garage to get the bottle of wax (well it's clean so why not wax it...........right??) and Chantal has decided to make vroom vroom noises, FOR REAL!! Too cute I say, too cute.

Gotta admit that is cute Zoom-Zoom,but please please please tell me you unbolted and removed the gear shift lever to child-proof the bike before she sat on it.

As I watched the clip I couldn't help thinking "OMG if her left foot slipped and touched that gear shift lever!" :scared:

(A thousand pardons for asking my friend I know the bike was on the center stand but my paternal instinct just goes into major overdrive anytime I see little kids near running machinery. :sorry:)

Cute. But...uhm...I saw that bike a couple days ago. You washed it? And you are going to wax it too. Man oh man you got time on your hands. Come on over. I'm building a shed I could use help with. You can hold the nails while Chantal hammers.

    Hey Stosh

No the lever was still there, but her legs are not quite long enough to reach them anyhow. She has to scooch over to the right side to reach the throttle so her left foot is a fair bit away from the lever. I also leave the side stand down so that were it to get clicked in to gear by accident it would shut off right away. Both the kids are very good about what they touch when they are around the bike mind you as they have both been fully briefed on dangerous things around the bikes. Such as hot exhaust pipes for one. I do thank you very much for the concern though. It is good to know that I am not the only paranoid parent when it comes to that kind of thing.

Yes yes the bike was pretty clean when you saw it there the other day Randy and I freely admit to having OCD tendencies when it comes to the bike. What you didn't see mind you was that I have been commuting to work this week and yesterday it rained most of the day and not only did the bike get dirty (I know, I know, my idea of dirty differs from most sane people) but the guys at the hot rod shop next door to mine decided to do some prep sanding on a car outside the shop today. When I came outside after work to go home tonight the bike was literally covered in grey dust, and I do mean covered. It was disgusting. Really!!!!

I have calmed down somewhat in my old age and since having kids. I used to wash, and WAX, the bike after every ride. Some people like to enjoy a beer after a long ride, but after group rides on the weekend, everyone congregated at our place and while they all sat around and drank beer, I washed everyone's bike. That was my way of relaxing. I talked with everybody and socialized, but I also cleaned the bikes. 500 km rides get the bikes covered in bugs, HONEST.

Really. Never knew that. I drink beer while I wash mine. I have an OCD adversion towards brake dust. ALways looking at build up on others front wheels of their cars and am disgusted. SO what do I do? I powder my wheels white.:brick:

Cute kid! Guess you did'nt have to worry about her hand over reving the bike as it probably wouldnt have been able to make the rotation.

On my Jeep, thats the only thing I wash, the "brake-dust" wheels look good, and the rest gets washed by the rain, except the windshield and maybe headlights. You could go a step further and take your calipers off along with brake pads and really give "her" a good cleaning with diluted SimpleGreen and a toothbrush, just make sure you don't return ther brush to your wifes side of the sink :loco: :pound: I am not fond of "Bug-Souffle" but have to contend with it if I do a nighttime ride. Cheers

Even here on this minor forum we got whack jobs as evidenced by SOW. IMO Zoom-Zoom is a great guy but posting up pix of his kids or any little kids or even bigger kids on a public forum when its easy to find them is not real smart.

Reference the subject on any search engine for some really scary accounts.

While I agree BB that the modern age of the Internet can be a very scary place and that there are certainly some whack jobs out there, if my wife and I were to spend our entire lives worrying about every whack job around the corner, truthfully we would have died a long time ago. I honestly prefer to think of the good in people as opposed to the bad. Call it naive if you will, but if posting a picture of my daughter having fun once in a while brings a smile to her face, then post a picture on the site I will.

There was a time when I thought you yourself might have been a bit of a nuisance but have come to realize that you simply prefer to tell it how it is, voice your opinion, and provide some helpful and useful info along the way.

Besides, you meet the nicest people on a Honda. Some even where nice heels.

Calculated acceptable risks I guess. I tend to agree with ZZ but BB has a point with some merritt. Hel. When I posted my location on thd member's map, it is pin point accurate. Anyone want a piece of me can find me there. Don't miss on your first attempt. That would be unhealthy.

Besides, all a person would be able to get from this site is an IP address which only gives those looking a general area. But I could be corrected by someone in the know on that one.

I will suppose you formulated your rejoinder without referencing in the suggested area with the suggested operators. This indeed does indicate your are more niaf than I thought. That is not only naïf but ignorant but even moreso , tripping in Lala Land.

To frane this and just from memory, not even wanting to mention your kid's names here, you live in or near Kewlowna , BC have a body business fearturing dentless repair, ride a specific brand of motorcycles that is red have a shop near a powdercoating company, are married, likely have a listing in the telephone directory, local advertising elsewhere, possibly have a website, are known in your hometown, have former clients ect. Do your really think by using a handle of Zoom-Zoom you can't be found by some whacked out baby raper with some computer savvy.

Let me suggest checking with the local LEOs there in your home town for more specific details and maybe even check your local listings for the locations of sex offenders who sometimes live on your same block.

While I can appreciate your platitudes and the slight twists in your compliments, until you check, keep in mind that there are those of us out here who do know that that there are some really evil people on the WWW and there are also folks like me who are ahead of you by three or four moves on the board.

    Wake up dude!

For God's sake do not give oot your IP to SOW! He could want more than a piece of you, even so far as a permanent relationship as scary as that sounds..

Having an IP location is only part of the equation. These assholes who are into kids are stalkers in the fullest sense of the word unlike the truncated net version that is popular. They are calculating , sophisticated predators many of whom are subscribers to networks that promote this shit.

Maybe you can wake this dude up some. He needs it.

Not to worry, Randy has first dibs on any services provided by SOW. Now with that set in stone, I am not seeing any rejoinders or arguments against my post other than the usual BS aboot having the freedom to do shit like taking long walks off short piers or why it's a great idea to put up pix on the net of little kids so they can smile.

Take a fucking photo and put it in a scrapbook.

Your response was exactly as expected BB. Therefore, I will not argue the point with you.
