Luckily he's still safely on pavement.

Maybe we should all 'chimp' in and buy him one of those bubble wrap suits, some training wheels, and some ibuprofen cause you know he's still gonna hurt something.

Let's hope this excursion doesn't have the "excitement" of the last one. I'm looking forward to the ride reports. Keep it on 2 wheels!!!

    Day 1

    Day 1
Waking up at 4am on the day after Christmas. Taking my morning walk, make me a cup of hot coffee and go over my check list to make sure I got everything I needed for the trip. At 6am I kiss the wife good bye and head out to the crisp quite morning. The town is silence and everyone around probably still recover from Christmas party with their love one. Pull into the gas station by the house to fill up the GS and go over the tires pressure. The GS got new shoe (Knobby) so I am taking it easy with the speed and turn. All went well I head out to Grande Terrance in River side to meet up with another rider.
The GS is patienly waiting for her master

The ways to Riverside mostly hi way, I rode slow and watch the grip of the new tires. The knobby on the free way are no fun, the bike feel squirlly especially on the turn. I make it to Riverside at the meeting point uneven full. We chat a bit and head out shortly after. I check the weather forecast showing 45 degree which is not bad but it is getting cold when you spent 5 hours on the roads. The heated grips help but I think heated glove will be on my shopping list for Alaska ;)

    Borring hi way :(

Stop for gas along the way and layer up cause it is Freeeeeeeeeeeezing Bluuuuuuuuurrrr
When we get closer to Death Valley the temperature drop as we climb up the altitude. The GS temperature gauge start flashing when it hit 37 degree…..Bluuuuurrr . As we hit the top of the pass the temperature now register at 32 Ouch It was cold but we did not mind cause we are excited to be there to explore new route.

Got to the camp ground around noon, check in, set up our sleeping quarter and head out to lunch. The camp ground we staying at called Paramint Spring. They have a restaurant, a general store and a gas station. It is nice and convenient but you will pay.

We had lunch just burger and fry two beers and a twelve pack to go. The bill come up to $82……..Talk about rape you dry….Ouchhh
    [IMG]
    Twelve packs is $24 dollars
A bundle of wood cost $12
Sometime camping with motorcycle is not cheap  after our lunch we still have few hours of day light so we decided to head out and explore new trails. Stop by at one of the camp ground next town to looking for our friends but they are not there. We chat with few people nearby to kill time, after an hour or so no sign of them so we head back to camp. At the camp we run into one of my friend that I met from the noob rally 2 years ago. He came with his girl friend from Argentina and a few other Israelis
We end up hang out and drink with them all night. Some of these guys are freaking Mad; they rode all day and did not get back to camp until like 8pm. The temperature on those trail can be as low as 30 degree. After finishing our 12 pack time to hit the sack  cause those trails are waiting for us in the morning. Good night everyone zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
