Hi Guys, today I picked up 1993 3 GEN at a price that was to good to be true. It only has 15,000 miles and starts and rides like its brand new. The front and rear wheels look like Honda put them on last night, not a scratch on them. Once this freaking tundra -5 F weather passes I need to try and lube the throttle and choke linkages. I am hoping it's not to involved. Another concern was the inside of the tank, it;s not rusted but it does look a little funky in there, almost mold like, I wonder if there is a way to coat the inside with some sort of chemical to make it look nicer? Anyway I hope I attached the picture correctly. Does anyone know if the side cowl plastic can be bought anywhere? Its took the brunt of the damage and I am not sure if it's salvageable. Anyway let the restoration games begin! :courage:

Thanks Iowa. New Jersey never had cold like this! Pipes are bursting everywhere, a main exploded in front of my parents house. They though the North Koreans finally made good on their crazy threats!

Dude, can you say SCORE?. she is gorgeous. Looks like a hi Staintune. Dont know how often its been ridden, hopefully you got some maintenance records. By the shape of the fuel in the tank, doesn't sound like its been used for awhile. Check dates on tires, and flush fluids to get her ready for spring, the way its looking , that may not be till May. Ha, good luck with the new girl

Sorry, no records. All I know is that kid I bought it from can't ride!:uncomfortableness: I need the right side plastic that covers the bliker. If you know anyone that's selling one then let me know. I need to check the classifieds!

Congrats on the purchase and compliments on a nice looking bike. Can't help you out on the fairings but i couldn't help but notice the seat looks a little uncomfortable. LOL. Just FYI, there is a used Corbin for sale in the classifed section on VFRD. Check it out if you're interested. It's not in great shape apparently but if you find the stock seat not too comfortable it might be worth looking at. Here's a link.

Ride safe and Keep her shiny side up. :)

Mate, landed on your feet there! Take the tank off and just wash it out, shouldn't be too bad. Unsure about oiling the throttle cables, I know there's tools available to do it on ebay.

    Sick moves! Great buy!

When restoring bikes in the past, I've always used Kreem on the inside of the tank. Most dealers will do this for you as well if you're not comfortable with the process.

Nice find. The '93 VFR is one of my favorites. I've restored a few of these bikes over the last 10 years and most of the hard to find stuff I found on eBay. Love it or hate it, it is a great source.

    Congrats Dino.

If you want me to ride that once you get it all fixed up so you can hear the sound of the exhaust while you trail, I'll be happy to oblige.

The MG is looking shiny, by the way!

Oh man, the white year too. Such a nice looking bike. I think if I saw that for a song I'd be tempted as well.
