My local dealer has the 2014 in white. I spent a half hour there checking it out. I really like it. I couldn't appreciate the detail of the white and gold until I saw it in person. I love my '07 RWB, but I think I'll be adding this new version to my garage in a few years. That time frame might be shorter if they come out with a RWB.

Very well said! I never even considered this until now, but you are right on. If the bike was a CBR1000, what would there be to complain about? Being a purpose built sport bike, there might be some minor complaints but for the most part, if you own it, you bought it for the same reason as everybody else. Since the VFR can serve as a sport, touring or even a daily commute bike, the wants for each of those types of owners are going to conflict with the others. Damn, I get it now. Thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious.

I think that you are proof that the 800 is not as underpowered as some people think. I've ridden street for 26 years and have owned many different bikes and displacements. For me, the VFR is just right in the power department. I can honestly say that anything with more HP would push my limits of riding ability.

It really is. When I first saw the 2014, I wasn't sure I liked the looks from what I saw on Honda's website. Seeing it in person was completely different. I'd love to now see the red as well to see if it has the same effect.

Thats a thought. I have a pretty good view, but less elbow would be nice.

Keep in mind that I'm comparing the power output to a completely worked 05 RC51, I still don't think its underpowered. I think it could use a bit more top end, but not much. I've got an Akrapovic can on it and I can't feel the difference between it and the stock can with the baffle in. I'm going to take the baffle out and see if that frees things up at all. If not, then I'll have to get it mapped and dyno tuned. for that last little bit of top end.

That said, this thing is a summer commuter and travel machine for me, not a track bike. So even without that last little bit of top end, I still would not call it underpowered for its intended use... But I'm the guy who really wants a CBR 300R or a KTM RC390 dedicated track bike because it would be fun.
