I have averaged 40.2 MPG over the past 14,522 miles of ownership. Bone stock with a ZG Double Bubble screen and sometimes hard bags.

Since I put on the Angle GT's I'm now getting upper 45's. Previous tires were the Metz M5's

I've only just got my 6th gen and use an app called Road Trip to track all my vehicle expenses. This is from my first two fills on my 2010 model which is stock with 10,000kms on the clock.

My bike is running PC3 and laser exhaust, stock air filter. I'm getting 40MPG on highway for speeds 70mph-110mph, that is with and without the vtec kicking in (Mixed). Around 33-35mpg in city which I think is good considering most of the riding is stop and go and less than 5 miles usually with 7-8 stops.

My car used to get me 30+mpg in SoCal and now it is like 20mpg after moving to Pittsburgh. Most of the driving is stop and go and climbing and descending on slopes. Looking at those stats, VFR is doing a great job :triumphant:

This past weekend was the first time(circumstances, they do happen) in far too long I've been on the highway for a trip. Had noticed my mileage in-town was down a bit, which made me wonder whether it was the usual city-stuff pulling it down a bit, or a possible problem.

No worry; short trip(200 miles), 51mpg. And that's keeping 70-80 as much as possible.

8% fast factory-6% added 2 rear sprocket teeth=2% still going fast. that means the spedo just needs to be slowed just 2% off. I would seem the spedo healer is very close to be a total waste of money for me. Right now the speedo is going just 2% faster. Kind of Funny in a way

Using the community speed signs/GPS, my bike is pretty much dead on at 10% fast. I have not verified via GPS if my odo is accurate or not. My mileage has been steadily decreasing, as I would be overjoyed to get the 39 mpg I posted about above. Sadly, it looks like if I get 37 mpg, mostly freeway, I take a win. It makes me really miss my old Triumph RS that had a bigger engine, but would get 47-48 mpg all day long... Canyons would only drop it to maybe 44.

I can verify the speedo being incorrect based on my GPS readings on multiple occasions. I usually use Waze (I have a mobile phone mount for bike) to confirm speeds, it's dead accurate on my car but 10% off on the VFR. I have gotten used to recalculating the error unconsciously while riding when not using the GPS.

    2002 VFR 800

Average 36.5 MPG - stock with no mods.

Altitude (this will play a major role in fuel economy) @ 230 m (750 ft)

I ride with a hard shell top trunk and hard shell panniers attached. I commute on 4-lane highways for about 130kms round trip every day.

I use Fuelly religiously to track my mileage.

10% off, - 2 more teeth on rear spocket-6%=4% still going too fast. This is amazing way off spedo error. But at least I now know around how fast I am going- at 105-i am going 101mph. it does look like the spedo healer is not needed, but one of these years maybe I put it on or it may simply go in the closet to be laughed at as a useless piece of over priced junk.

I too use fuelly religiously. My economy has been pretty poor this spring so far, but my thermostat was stuck open and I just replaced it on June 27. I'm interested to see if my fuel economy bounces back to the around 40mpg I'm used to, rather than the 35-37 I've been getting this spring.

What's your average running temperature on highway? I think my mileage is hurting a bit due to the early season riding I did. :)

Well, now that the thermostat is fixed it hovers around 78'-80'C, I would imagine regardless the conditions. Before the thermostat was fixed it would often never get above 70'C on cool mornings. In cool rain it might not even get above 65'C, so the VTEC wouldn't even engage.

Hmm. I may check mine ... on cold rainy days it stays in mid-60s to 70s.

In traffic, I'm reaching 106-110ish on average. On a normal day, I'm usually high to mid 80's on the highway.

I wonder if my tstat is sticking as well ... although I'm getting about 38mpg lately with the warmer weather with all my luggage attached.

Earlier in the season, I was getting horrendous mileage.

Once my cbr has warmed up, a couple of minutes, the temp never goes below the high 70's to low 80's. Even on wet 5 c days.
I think your thermostat may be stuck open or missing.

Is your engine going to run colder when raining? I rode 25 miles home this morning in a downpour and my temp would not get above 166. 172 is op temp.

I was running a bit hot on the highway on my 250 mile ride to DC for the long weekend. It was all highway and most of the ride was over 70mph. I got 42-45mpg from what I suspect as I do not like to run after the last fuel bar shows up and refuel immediately. I did ride in rain (not heavy rain) for about 5 miles and the temperature dropped by 5 degrees to 167 which usually was between 170-175. I kicked in the Vtec a few times and did touch 140mph and backed off lol
