Only A month... I know what ya mean, I had mine for a bit over a year. I was at a vintage gathering and here saw this H2 beauty in all it's glory like I had. Then it hit me. Holy shit, I did what on the witches broom stick, swing as big as my thumb, shocks, what shocks, not to mention the front end, but the front brake being new to this generation, the disc was a huge improvement. and the tires OML... Crazy what I did with that machine. I too sold it with 8700 miles for a 73 Z1, whole different animal.

The Aprilia has come out of the weeds like a scalded cat and raised the game that the RVF will have to match, it's already shown how quick it is by taking wins in the final 2 WSB rounds, it was easily passing everything including the Ducati Panigale, speed trapped as the fastest by 5mph, at 200+ that's impressive

The BMW of 2013 is now an also ran, times change quickly

Honda initially totally under estimated the Ducati when they returned to MotoGP, they said they needed to advance their designs by 5 yrs

The new bike will have to be carefully developed to make sure their designs for RVF aren't left standing when they produce it by what the competition is already offering

I agree, we should not allow ourselves to combine the fast guys with the bikes. Lets keep it impersonal and try to all get along.

LOL it wasn't that bad now. We endurance raced a H1 for the first three years. Modified of coarse. The H2 was known as point-n-shoot. You better have it pointed where you want to go before you hit the gas or your in big trouble.

I had heard earlier this year the Honda was supposed to have something competitive in 2017.

Lol, yeah it was probably more that the power scared the crap out of me. I had an RD at the time and was used to that little cafe racer. The Widow Maker was an entirely diffrent beast. That tripple with chambers is one of the sweetest sounds.

There is a vintage motorcycle show in Pompano Beach Fl every year that usually has a lot of old H2's and 1000's of other very cool bikes. Billy Joel has come to it a bunch of times. Not sure if he bought any but he is a collector. He actually played with the local band that was there, seems like a cool dude.

Billy Joel actually owns a motorcycle shop where he builds replicas. He takes the newer technology motorcycles and retro styles them. He was on an episode of 'American Restoration', a TV shown on the history channel. Theory show was about the AR guys rebuilding a BSA for him. They delivered it to his shop and he showed them what he does. Cool stuff. And yes, he seems like he's a pretty cool dude.

Latest from Honda is the RVF1000 will not be available until 2019, by which time it should be amazing but it won't be because by then the emission restrictions will mean the exhaust is twice the size today, so the performance we all want won't be there, Honda have totally pissed on their own bonfire there

They're concentrating on either getting more performance out of the Blade, then selling race replicas for less than €40,000 (=$42,000) to get them into the WSB, the homologation requirement has been dropped from 1000 to 500, presumably to give companies like Bimota a chance to sell enough in a decade

OR the much vaunted "cheap" version on the RC213V may appear, being as they've released artists impressions of the new Blade I get the feeling they're just playing a game, not a clever thing to do when the competition is already selling the equivalent now .....

I personally think Honda has their sport bike department head up it's collective ass. Love the vet, but they are the last I think of when I consider buying a sportbike. Even Suzuki comes ahead of them. Especially with the GSX-R1000

I watched the video in the link above. It sounds really good with the race kit. I had to laugh tho when at the end of the video the YouTube recommended videos included a full length nude yoga for beginners. Pretty entertaining, I must say... I have yet to finish it though, it's 2 hours 25 minutes long.
