So I'd love to work on my bike standing straight up and down. In the winter get it up off the ground, etc. Unfortunately, the North American '92 VFR750F did not come stock. I've checked several sites online and no luck. The question then is would another year center stand fit the '92? Cause there's lots of them on ebay!

Ok, it's good to here that. I figured that either the year before or after might fit. I just need to check out the mounting bracket setup on a '93 and '91 and compare with what's there on the '92, eh? I know I could just get a rear wheel lift stand but they just don't fit well into the side bags. Sometimes on a trip that center stand is pretty handy.

No, '90-'93 Cstands are as rare as rocking horse poop. Other gens won't fit. Just get a Pitbull stand.

Heh, while you're online do you have any ideas about hard case mounting brackets made for a '92. The only thing I've come across is a universal wing mount for $400, YIKES!!. It's like that year was forgotten when it came to aftermarket accessories.

My local bike shop (2nd Gear) suggested I order a set of display mounting brackets they use in the shop and weld on the support arms that connect to the foot pegs if I'm desperate. So I did. They haven't arrived yet, but I think it's going to work just fine. The display mounts are actual mounting brackets that fit Givi/Kappa panniers they are just missing the support arms and only cost $80 a set. The metal tubing will probably only be a few bucks. Throw some black spray pain on there.

I actually have a center stand for a gen 3 off my 93 in my garage somewhere. I took it off to install my stainless headers, never put them back on. I now use a pitbull swingarm stand. I know how valuable they are so I'm not ready to let go yet. but haven't needed to use a centerstand in a while. I'd go with the pit bull stand, works great even with my givi bags.

Thanks everybody. Much appreciated info. Think I'll leave that alone and focus on the panniers bracket project this winter.

Keep an eye on eBay. Eventually, someone will part out an entire bike with one. You'll have to be diligent.

Previous to my vfr I restored an '87 305 gpz and '89 400 FZR and did a fair bit of eBay watching and waiting. My patience was well rewarded and since I'm planning on keeping the vfr I have time.[IMG]

Yup, saw that one too. Thanks. Thought about it overnight and gonna look into get a rear axle stand. Once I get my pannier brackets later this month and start welding and fitting the bike will be stand up nicely. If any of you are interested I'll post photos , whether I'm successful or not

Picked up my monokey side brackets a few days ago. I'm gonna leave the center stand thing alone for now and focus on welding/bolting on new support brackets. I'll post some pics when I'm done.

Thanks folks for all your ideas and suggestions for a center stand.
