Ok ok, 2 stokes are bad ass, no taking that away from em.. just plain fun. But to get this thread back on track, here's the one that works for me. Besides having a little cool factor built in. They work great!! Just saying ;)

RVFR, I was looking at your pics on Photobucket. Damned nice bike. What I want my Fifth Gen to look like.

Back on topic. I still like my tires.

    Whoops...
These Pilot Powers replaced with Pilot Power 2CT to get harder rubber on center.

Well .... lookee here at what arrived!

At first inspection, these tires feel really sticky and the camber is much deeper than the PR2's I think.

Not sure if I should throw them on right away, or wait another week or two before so that I'm only riding on them for a week or two prior to my trip. Thoughts? keep in mind, I could easily put on 2,800 km's prior to my trip if I put them on now. :p

Roughly about 2,500 km's round trip, not including the riding that I'll be doing when we make base camp there. :)

    I'd guess about 4,500 km's??

Nice!! I put on about 1480 km's the first day and a half I had my new tires. Easy to do. So maybe if you wait a week, you'd only put that much on as well before your trip. Broke the tires in good.

If you wait, maybe you could just snuggle with them so they don't get lonely.

Haha. Right now, they are snuggling with my '85 VF1000F Interceptor on the bike lift.

I put on ~140-150 km's every day in my commute, so it adds up quickly. I'm thinking I'll wait until next week end.

For the money, check out BikeBandit today for BT023's. They aren't bad tires and are incredibly inexpensive with a $50 card to boot. Ordered two rears and a front for $303 this morning not counting the card which I will get with the receipt when it comes.

I am not a fan of the Dunlop sport Max II D-222's. I think they are garbage.

Are you speaking of the Bridgestone battleax sport tires? I had the super sport version on my S1000RR and did not really like them. Too peaked and an abrupt turn in.

There are many different models / profiles in the Battlax series ... which ones did you run?

Riding in Turkey is fine. It's the mashed potatoes with gravy which can get you into trouble with the wrong tires....
