Kind of a funny follow on..... After I got the nickname everybody started calling me by it. It got to be when my wife would call she would ask for John and who ever was manning the operations desk would ask "who?" and she would have to say "Is Action there?" Of course this would cause a fresh round of general hilarity.

Derstuka - Thanks for the fun thread

I just like the Cobra car. Don't particularly like snakes. And since the name is quite opposite to what I'm really like (so laid back you'd swear I was asleep) I thought it fit. The numbers were suggested when someone else had chosen the moniker before me; they mean nothing.

VaRollOn came from the fact that I have lived in Virginia my entire 37 years and having travelled extensively, think the Commonwealth is hard to beat overall.

The RollOn came from the fact that my worldview centers around the fact that no matter what befalls you good or ill you have a responsibility to your integrity, your family and your ancestors to just KEEP ROLLING.

Also, and no less a factor was a testimonial to the inspiring courage of the passengers of flight 93 whom decided to fight, one of them stating "lets roll" before their historic fight for the airplane bound for our beloved Capital. It may sound cheesy to some, but as my wife was in the air bound for Manhattan that fateful morning, and we have known people lost, and many more affected like us, we will never be the same. Also, My folks owned a home on Army Navy drive 1/4 mile from the Pentagon, that night we went and took pictures from across the navy Annex, of it engulfed in flames with other citizens mourning. Many have forgotten, I feel like it was yesterday. I also feel very lucky, Kristen also used to live in one of the 7 buildings that fell.

It incedentally is why we moved from Old Town Alexandria to Leesburg, ironically the guy we bought our home from was selling to leave the entire area due to 9-11. He was the head air traffic controller at Dulles airport and he was devastated, moving to Jacksonville FLA.

    ride well my friends!:usa2:

Last name sounds like "nozzle" but with an M in front.

The best part of the 1970 Chevrolet Impala was the ability for someone 5'7" or less to lay down with their legs extended, across the car's bench front or back seats... even with someone laying next to them without falling off the seat in both the front and back bench seats. Yosh70's car has buckets in front, so he is likely no longer double dating as I did years ago in my 4-door.

One of the nights we were in Polebridge, we had dinner at the "Northern Lights" restaurant. One of the hospital emergency helicopters goes by overhead. Steve, my friend, gets into a conversation with Jack. He asks him about the helicopter that flew over, and Jack deadpans "they're armed".

    and Jack was serious.

I was 7 (2nd grade) & we saw a film of the animals of Australia, (hence b-4 this I was small for my age & everyone would like to pick a fight with me, but I wouldn't back down) when they showed a "TAZmanian Devil fighting over a wombat carcas with a pack of Dingo's & drove them off ) .

So my long time friend (to this day) jumped up in class during the scene & said "THATS JOE" !!!!! I have been called Taz since,(so no cartoon charactor envolved here, with the exception of everyone sending shirts & stuft animals of the Cartoon Charactor :frusty:).

Utah well, just Taz was taken, & since I'm in Utah now I chose that.

I've been called Taz going on 40 years now, riding for as much, bigger & wiser, as well as still won't back down :boxing:

Alter Ego is a name I got because I am a pretty calm and relaxed guy. When I bought my boat it was not named and since its a performance boat with a 502 Mercruiser and open exhaust nobody expected the loud obnoxious boat to be something I was running around in. A few of my friends talked about it as my Alter Ego showing through because I liked the loud and obnoxious boat and it just didn't seem like me. So now my boat is Alter Ego. I like the name..... Boat's for sale now..... I spend too much time riding my VFR to justify owning it anymore. I'd like to put that motor in a car though.

Mine is so unoriginal. I was just still so retarded high about getting my VFR that when I found this site I made up my dumb name quickly because I was so excited about finding it......uh I'm a guy that lives in Arizona. I'm really a Hawkeye at heart though.....maybe that should have been my name!

Cool. I had simply assumed it referred to the act of applying throttle, i.e. "top gear roll-on". :usa2:

I was branded with the nickname "Jethro" way back in 87 as I had more muscle than brains. The 911 came from my desire to own a 911 Porsche which still hasn't happened but the desire remains.

Gears... no it doesn't come from the gear drive on the cam, I have a 6th gen. so that wouldn't work.. I've been Gears since the 60s. It was a street racing thing...to make a car fast it was common to replace the cam, carb and Gears.
