Many of us ride other 2 wheel vehicles other than a VFR, or other types of motorcycles. I have a RoadID bracelet for many years and fortunate haven't had to use iot. Now, while watching the Tour De France, I have upgraded to their new Apple Watch ID rather than wear both the watch & bracelet.

If we are involved in an accident, then it is imperative to get all your medical info and insurance info ASAP, and notify family or friends.

For more info go to: RoadID.com

    .

Kinda like dog tags or a Medic Alert bracelet. A great idea. I don't have an apple anything but I am sure it would not cost much to get a bracelet or neck chain with a tag with this info. My phone number is unlisted and unpublished so any way to make it easier for first responders to get hold of my contacts works for me.

On my "To Do" list for when I get home. Should my home number be ahead of my girlfriend or after? I asked my wife. She just left the room and slammed the door. WTF.

I have an implanted RFI chip but you have to be CIA or a Health and Welfare Canada agent to access the info.

ICE is OK if they can get into your phone, mine uses fingerprint security, so if you are unconscious, you out of luck. With RoadID there is a serial number and PIN that will give EMT's complete access to all your medical and personal information that you put in your profile (Interactive Service).

You can a bracelet too with or without the Interactive Service.

Not sure what you were referring to with "ICE is ok" and talking about your phone. Maybe that was to someone else?

ICE is just an acronym (in case of emergency). If you read my thread I mention RoadID as well as my preference "ResQtag." You can put duct tape on your helmet and write on it. Point is, do something, anything, so your loved ones can be contacted, and med issues, allergies, blood type, incase of emergency.

For that matter, for what effort it takes, do everything you learn. Redundancy is a good thing sometimes.

Well. Tattoos across the forehead might be taking it a little far.

Better off with dog tags. One of the draw backs with the band style is how abrasion resistant it is.

Good to know too that buying an Apple watch is not required. Stainless steel dogtags work fine as do Stainless steel bracelets.

    The implanted chip is interesting.

I have had the bracelet for years, but rarely wore it on short rides, now with the tag on the watch band, I wear it all the time.

One of features of the Shoei Rf1200 were the removable emergency pads, allowing the helmet to be easily removed without putting strain on the neck!

I agree there are many methods of displaying your info, but with RoadID, they take it to another level by having an 800 # to call with proper ID get all your health, medicines & contacts.

As a first responder that on multiple occasions have had to remove the helmet from someone that's been in an accident, that feature looks really nice (but left the VFD before I encountered one of those at an accident scene, so I don't know how well it works).

Shoei has that on their X-twelve as well. Maybe we will see similar on most helmets in the near future. Maybe not scull caps though.

You can get a RoadID for $20 with anything you want on it. EMT's look around the neck and wrist for ID information. That's where it needs to be. My daughter has worked in too many emergency rooms. She doesn't like my VFR.

OT: I've noticed a lot ER personnel don't like bikes (or cars, for that matter), but I see a different attitude from first responders. In 5 years on a VFD in a prime driving/riding area, I saw a lot of accidents, and a handful of people that didn't make it to the hospital. And that didn't stop me from riding, or any of the others on the FD, including some paramedics. Maybe it was seeing it more in context, since we're there staring at the scene, able to see how it happened, vs the just the context of seeing someone come in that's badly banged up, and knowing that they were riding.

Back OT: I need to pick up something like this. In addition to the emergency contact information that I keep in my wallet.

Thanks for sharing. This is some really great info. I was just thinking about this on last nights ride. I ride alone a lot and I have all my info in my iphone in the emergency medicalID section which can be set up to be accessed even when the phone is locked. I'm told that most first responders and hospitals know about this feature and know how to access it when the phone is locked even if you have your fingerprint sign in turned on which I do. I tested this and yes if you swipe to open the phone, emergency shows up in the bottom left corner. Hit that and you have the option of calling 911 or hitting medicalID and all your info will be there if you filed it out.

My thought last night was if the phone got ejected from its mount and not found then there's zero info about me as my wallet is also my phone case. I think I need to look into one of these tags as a secondary measure. Not like id be missed but would never want to be a john Doe in the hospital.

I have had a RoadID for a long time for when I ride my bicycle. If I get run over at least they will be able to identify the arm with the bracelet on it. Never thought to wear it all the time or on the moto. Good idea though. These come in lots of styles and colors and they have them for shoes as well and other things.
Thanks for the great ideas here guys.
