As of this morning there are just six tail-tidies left. The forum-member price is AUD$70, plus $15.85 airmail postage to the US/Canada. If you'd like to snap one up, please send me a private message with your email address and I'll forward you a PayPal invoice.

    Cheers - Cam

Update: The 2nd Production Run has sold out, and feedback from the both runs has been universally positive.

If you're keen to be a part of a possible future third production run, please add your name to the list, and also send me a private inbox message with your email address (so that I can reach out to you if/when we reach the minimum viable order size of 12 units). Payment (AUD $70 + postage) will only be asked for once articles from a third run are ready to be sent.

Hey Guys, I'm selling my Tail Tidy I got from NZCam. It's a nice piece for sure, but Honda must have used permanent loctite on my side screw plates. Even heating them to try to melt the loctite didn't work. You may want to make sure you can remove yours before ordering.
I've already drilled mine for US plates so its good to go. Instructions included. $50 shipped to the lower 48. PayPal only. Please send PM. Thanks.[IMG]

I am doing the same. I have tried everything but no go. Heat, wedges. The plastic just gets worse and worse.

The bike belongs to a rider from California with the username SlfAwre. He bought the high-rise Yamamoto slip-on for a VFR-800X Crossrunner, then spent a fair amount of effort adjusting the sub-frame to accommodate. You can find more about it here:

    http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/78376-aftermarket-pipes-for-gen-8/&page=22

Still need a few more folks to commit to a third production run to reach the minimum viable order size. Do you want to be on the list again?

Hey Samuel, Just remember that if you are going in this direction in what I am assuming is a 2014-2015 that this setup hinders bags quite a bit OEM and soft luggage. But, I am sure you have. Good luck.

NZcam, any advice on installing your tail tidy since I have destroyed the plastic per not reading your instructions if I find it?

Once you ditch the factory mount, the warped plastic on that piece won't matter, you only need to be concerned with the plastic on the outside (the piece you can see in the last 3 photos in the instructions).

Do you have the option of asking your bike's mechanic for help? They often have special tools and techniques for getting at things that the average home garage lacks. If that's not an option, how about trying a set of rubber-tipped wide-jaw vice-grips? I haven't seen anyone need to try this, but it might work:

    s-l300.jpg

First, heat up the plate to loosen the Loctite, then get your vice-grips nice and firm with one jaw on the widest part of the square locking plate, and one jaw on the outside of the tail. Make sure both jaws have a rubber barrier;- on the inside to grip the plate better, and on the outside to protect your tail finish. Be careful how tight you set the vice-grips so that you don't break the plastic, but that should provide enough resistance to crack the Loctite.
