    HAHAHA!!!

    Ok I can't stop laughing...good one!

I bought my 98 last summer it had about 35000 on the odo and had been crashed at least twice. I have no idea how well or poorly it had been maintained and how many previous owners it had. I crashed her last September...(not my fault, other party was charged)...and she still gives me 200 miles between fill ups and runs like a dream. I have only changed oil and hydraulics, chain and sprockets, rear tire and threw in a K&N air filter. Otherwise bone stock.

All VFR's are stunning machines to look at as well. Could it be the perfect bike?!??

Don't own one, but I'd also a fan of the VTR, squirrelman!

Came within a whisper of buying one, but a Ninja 250 won out by availability and price. (wanted a 250 for two sons just learning to ride) and we do not live in the city.....

How do you define "worn out"? How long have B52's lasted? Visit the Barber museum in Birmingham. You'll see a lot of ancient bikes that have lasted a LONG time. Longer than the original purchaser. Yes, some of them have been rebuilt but they all run. That is a visit worth traveling a long ways to make.

Got 80,000 miles on my 91, and 22,000 on my 93. I have 36,000 on an EX500 and just did the valve check everything was right in spec, even the carbs were spot on. So, all it got was new spark plugs at around 6500+ miles. This bike gets ridden 3-4 times a week at triple digits and to 10,000 rpm. Doesnt burn oil, runs and shifts perfect. With proper maintenance and some respect for your transmission, these liqiod cooled bikes will easily go 100,000.

I got 12,000, I did 7500 of those-all short trips. its not the mileage that matters- I don't like to ride tired and I get too buzzy with chickins and kitties. I change the oil every 2500 miles or less.

Gen 4 near me has over 330,000km on it with no engine work, just regular servicing.

Lololololol a guy on an Indian trying to troll a VFR? That's rich. I bet the maintenance to ride-time ratio on his bike is literally 1000x larger than a VFR. These asshats on their American cruisers and their need to come parade their insecurity to us is so annoying.

1987 VFR700 which I bought new, now has over 107,000 miles. Engine is not the issue. The tabs on the bodywork eventually crack and break.

2nd went in my V45 Sabre at a supposed 15K. Dunno miles for sure, it was old when I bought it, with a "rebuilt" title.

Would have lasted longer with a new head gasket!

He might have not needed the new engine at 44K miles if he'd noticed the head gasket issue, but as he said, it was still running well even when the gasket had blown!
