    Hi guys
    It's me again.

I'm now looking for a petcock for my RC36 series 1 because the old one is not working.
Not that much of a problem because my bike is still under warranty by the dealer I bought it from.
But he's a Yamaha dealer so he's got problems sourcing the parts needed.

Has anybody got reliable sources for either the whole assembly or a Rep-Kit of some sort?

    Thanks

Try sourcing parts at a site in UK or France. One contributor here resides in Switzerland or Ski's there.

Dealers are dealers and the longer this one tells you he can't source parts, the shorter your warranty becomes. Calling BS on this one.. Maybe he's a Harley dealer too?? ;)

Nope, haven't seen any Harleys there ;)

Maybe he's a harley dealer at heart and doesn't even know of his luck yet.
I think I met the guy from england on here before.

I'll shoot him a PM, thanks for the great idea.

The US sources are good too. Not a clue about your import duties and VATs. Canada may be one too..Mine on my 91 is still working great. Rebuild kits for other systems are another option.. Good luck..

I have to say that we wanted to source the part in the US. They told us that they are able to deliver within 2-4 weeks.

After 2 weeks of waiting they finally sent us an e-mail that they won't be able to stock the needed part again.

    We'll see..

Again I don't claim to know how this all works anywhere but in the US. As a long time online and mail order customer for photo equipment as well a motorcycles stuff. I use the telephone. My first question after making the initial connection is, "Do you have this item in stock?" Another method is using "chat". I learned this the hard way. I ordered a camera from an otherwise reputable dealer in New York. I didn't ask the question. It was as best I recall nearly four months before my camera came. Orders exceeded production.. The camera? A 500C Hassleblad.

Dealers are dealers.. One may be a bit more hungry than another and find that part as opposed to one that is too %$##@ lazy to go the extra mile. Honda has several warehouses and many many parts sales arms.. Don't give up..

    Ohh nice camera :)

I think the luck is on my side.
We wrote on the contract that he has to fix the petcock, so no getting out of that the easy way.
I just talked to a good friend of mine who happens to be a honda dealer.
He just got a scrapped 3rd gen in. With a functional petcock :)

The Gods smile once again.. The "Blad" is long gone. When Kodak quit making large format KC. I concentrated on 35mm. The new "Blads" are nice but I could have an MV Agusta or a new VFR and with enough left over to add enough farkles to make it weigh as much as a Harley. :)

Blad-yah völ. The euro bike have a reserve thats associated with the petcock, where as our "Mach 1" bikes have it on or off and you have to remove the seat to do it. Unlike the euro bikes pilot doing it on the fly. He could call Pingel and get a fuel tap if push came to shove. I ordered a new oem part for my 91 maybe 5 years ago. My 93 already had a new one installed. I dont think they are servicable units because the are riveted, unlike my kawasaki. I got an on/off pingel on there and it works great. :worthless: BACKYARD BABIES for ever :rockband:

I was forced to go aftermarket and make an adapter plate. Works great now.
