In the evenience I couldn't finish my vf project, I 'd let go my vf500f Yoshimura stage 2 cams in very very good conditions. They come in their oem box. For what I know, they are the only full kit still exhisting all over the world. They are not an extremly rare but an unic opportunity to get them. If you are interested please let me know. In any case I won't let them go for less than 600 dollars and paypal payment is welcome.

Are they for the 84/85 engine or the 86?

It can't be both. If they are for the 400 and the 500 then they will only fit the 500 84/85 engine. The camshafts are a lot longer on the 86 engine.
    I only have 86 engines..

Jeremy I checked, you are right. So they're for the 84/85 model. I add you some photos, the one with the chain gear is from my vf400f, and is the same lenght. SDC16270.jpg SDC16267.jpg SDC16268.jpg SDC16269.jpg SDC16271.jpg

Very interesting all the same. I never knew Yoshi made engine tuning parts for the VF400/500.
No use to me unfortunately, but I hope someone can make use of them.

    yoshi cams

it would be interesting to know the manufacturing process for these cams. They don't look like billet as I can see what looks like cast material where
they are not machined. With the valve/spring problems on the VF500 any greater lift would be questionable. Also I wonder if the profile is different enough to help with the valve float which is the likely culprit with stock cams/springs. An interesting item and what would really be cool is if there was a source from Yoshi who could give technical info on why they were developed. Degree wheel specs and dyno charts are the real proof that these weren't produced just to sell to folks who think throwing cams, pipes, etc at a bike automatically make it better.

They're all interesting questions that I can't reply at the moment. What I can say is that the ramp of the cam is quite different and lobe shape is largely wider giving a longer valves crossing time, doesn't seem Yoshi made them for as you say "the folks" and to tell you the truth Yoshimura never did (mufflers apart). In any case I will try to make some shots to show you (folks.... ;-)). I'm also managing to find someone in the surroundings using the appropriate hardware to take measures of the cam profile. If I can finish the project I' working to, I will fit on my vf400f at the beginnig of the next yesr and shall let you know if they're working properly.
