Don't be normal Jeff, it's a bit boring...
I think we need to start thinking about a Southern Ontario meet soon PawnBoy.
You're invited Jeff, Leave after work Friday, coffee Saturday evening, crash on my couch till early Sunday morning then ride home just in time for work Monday morning...
You know you want to do it.....

Guelph might be a bit of stretch for a shorty ... but I could do Michigan's UP or Sault Ste. Marie as a meeting point.

I'm almost surprised one hasn't been organized earlier, there's a fair number of us around here. Scheduling is always an issue though, we're all busy people.

That might actually make for a good weekend. Leave here Friday afternoon, Sault Ste. Friday night, hang out and tour for the day then ride home the other way on Sunday.
Sorry about the Hijack OZ VFR.

If I can do 1,000 miles (1,600 km) in a single day with the shitty shape I was in last summer - then you sure as shit can pull off less than 1,000 km's on your end. I'll be getting the longer distance. :)

lol, I'm sure I can do it. Just saying that I haven't done much more than that in a day before. I think on one trip last year I did just over 800 Km in one day but my buddy wanted to stop at that point as he was getting a little sunburned. I on the other hand although sweating buckets occasionally, showered and was fine. Another one of the benefits of ATGATT.

ATGATT. In the heat. Long days ion the saddle. Build up a strong body odour and wear it with pride. those who dn't like it will leave in due course and you can sit there and stink all you want. Fukkem.

ATGATT is a commitment I made to myself and my family. Knowing the injury risk is greater on 2 wheels if something happens I have to do all that I can to protect myself. I can't afford not to go to work. Sweat washes off, roadrash doesn't. It is so tempting sometimes though.

I'm in southern Ontario area much like Zombie, but I'm in the Greater Toronto Area. Last ride of last year was around November. I rode a couple times this year on the odd day it was nice out. Once in February. Once in March.

Biggest problem with getting out before the "season has started" is that the roads are still filthy. Some areas use sand instead of salt and that collects into huge piles that can be a problem. Also the road usually has a layer of "dust" from either the salt or sand.

Another large problem is that other motorists are even more oblivious to Motorcycles during this period than they usually are. 4-5 months of hardly ever seeing a bike seems to have wired them to want to kill us more.

I'm a 911 dispatcher and every "nice" day we've had this year where a Motorcyclist could go out and ride there has been a serious motorcycle accident...and that's just in the area I work for.

Yesterday was around 10c/50F and I saw a few bikes out. Unfortunately I was working so I couldn't make it out. It was down to -15c/5F with windchill by nighttime.

...oh and its Canada. Not Canadia :stung: :canada:

I don't know if you will ever understand how much we out on the road relied on you guys to keep us safe so we could help the public. We had a real winner or two but the vast majority of the dispatchers were absolute top notch and an extreme critical part of our delivery of service. I can say for sure, lives were saved because of what 911 dispatchers did when we asked of them.

    Thank you 911.

The people that named your country got it wrong.
You are Canadian, you must be from Canadia.

(That took a lot longer than I thought)
