The S10 is the smaller of the two. S20 has a bigger control on the outside of the helmet but I would suggest the mic and speakers would be the same on both. But I don't know that for sure.

I bought the Sena 20S last year and don't regret it for a minute. I debated a handful of options and ended up settling on the 20s. My helmet is a HJC CL17 and the install was really straightforward. That said, it took me a bit to find the proper mic placement but now I can hear fine and others I talk to have no idea I'm riding a motorcycle down the highway at 125 km/h. It was a bit of a study to learn how to setup intercom groups but after doing it once or twice, the process makes sense and is pretty straightforward. The range for intercom isn't as much as was advertised but I suspect it would be far better if we were riding open interstate or highway. I usually ride with mind plugged in so I can't really speak to battery life. Overall, I absolutely love mine and now don't leave on a ride without it.

I got the senna 20 for Christmas. Only tried it twice so far but am impressed with the sound quality. I just have to learn how to work it, need the senna guide for dummies.

Not to thread jack but the two prevalent manufacturer choices seem ubiquitous among the group members?

How are the offerings from the helmet manufacturers, like AGV or HJC?

I don't have an Arai or a Shoei but an HJC CL-Max II & a new AGV K5 Enlace (Bought for X-Mas but awaiting some completion of the 6TH Gen before wearing). They offer some headsets. I particularly like the feature set of the AGV helmet/headset combination.

Anyone here have that combo or close? What about HJC's offering? Also, if enough $$ is left later, I'd be in the market for a Bell Qualifier DLX if supplies last. I'm wondering if I should go the generic route or per helmet manufacturer route.

    What's the take?

Most likely the ones that come with the helmet are made by Cardo or Sena, possibly UClear. Schuberth's SRC for the C-3/C-3 Pro and S2 helmets was made by Cardo but the newest version is being made by Sena. Not sure about the newer version but the previous was basically the G9 (1st Gen) and the G9X (2nd Gen). I imagine that the Sena version will be similar to one of their current models.

I'm sure if you look into it, one of the helmet models is going to be close to one of the big name models, which one is the question.

I went with the Sena 20s for my AGV k3sv, I'd say if you go with the ones that AGV promote you can get the speakers into wells in the helmet so they don't stick out, the sena speakers are too large for those.
I don't remember why I didn't buy the AGV kit, maybe because I couldn't find it in Sweden and that a friend of mine was very pleased with the sena.

Sena all the way. The new RideConnect is the new wave, available at the Google Play Store. I spoke with a group, Australia, Colorado, and Philippines using a 10S.

Rumor has it a new Camera is coming, about the same size as a Sena 10, compact and all the Sena features combined into one unit. Cool.

Lots of great info! I have SMH10, and commute the highway everyday. With quality earplugs, and the 10 on full volume, music is still loud enough. Calls depend more on the other person, and my boss talks really quiet.

Me, I ended up buying the S20. Revzilla said there could be a problem mounting it on the modular Bell Revolver Evo but I had no problem mounting it. It fit just fine.

The audio of the FM radio sucks. For one thing your limited in turning up the volume. I doesn't go high enough. I guess that's for liability reasons.

I stacked both foam pads on each speaker which brings them out about 5/8". Maybe the speaker pockets on the Bell are just too deep.

I bought it for a couple of rides this summer that didn't happen. My regular riding buddy kept saying he was gonna get one but he hasn't pulled the trigger.

I took it off because I lift the chin on my Helmet a lot and the mic gets in the way.
You might see a 20S in the accessories classified here in the near future.

I'm going to throw a wrench in the works. I bought a cheap little set on ebay, and they have been AWESOME!

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-BT-Bluet...687812?hash=item1a12a0f404:g:D24AAOSwRgJXksIZ

I have only used it for navigation and phone calls so far, but even at 70mph, I can hear directions and carry on a phone conversation. The headset was $76 for THE PAIR. Battery lasts days in standby, and I go more than a month letting it sit.

Jose. I am happy that you like your coms unit. I looked at the ebay reports and read the comments and most seem to basically agree with you. Though the reviews are not stellar, they are pretty good. I find that reading consumer comments from Ebay and especially Amazon, are a great way to learn the issues of an item you are interested in. Since I have gone into the retail tool world, I have often sent customers who are undecided on a brand of tool to get, to go there as part of their research to get a clear and usually unbiased opinion of the quality of the tool. Disregard the highest rating and the lowest rating then paint a picture of the product with everything in between. Enough about tools though. I am wondering after looking at the pictures of your unit, is the operation of those smallish buttons easy while riding and wearing gloves. My Sena SMH10R is not too bad. that way. There are two ridges between the center control button and the + and - volume controls that you can feel though the glove. But I do believe they should have made those ridges just a little more prominent though. A little more definite to the feel wearing gloves.

Just wondering how you found yours to be like that way.

    Hi Randy,

Since this was my first foray into a comms. setup, I wanted to start with something just for my phone. If it didn't have good range across riders, I though that would be ok. It's mostly for use with my navigation/phone, and communication with my passenger (daughter) when I get time to start going on rides for fun. Grad school eats up ALL my time right now.

You make a great observation. The buttons could definitely stand improvement. The spacing on the two front buttons makes it possible to feel my way to the large button used to answer the phone, but if I had thicker gloves it would definitely be a problem. I would say that as long as you are not trying to activate a connection between turns, it would be ok. However, if you were ringing and wanted to quickly reach up and answer, I would just ignore the call. Larger buttons would definitely be really nice, but then you would lose the ability to easily select one of the other 4 possible riders you can connect to. Now, if you ride with thinner gloves, or (even better) open finger gloves I think you would be just fine. The feel on the buttons is very positive, and my bare fingers easily find each location. I only tested once though, as I am an ATGATT type of guy.

actually the shit talk gets worse. just ask long.

As far as comms goes, I have been using an old Uclear 100 (I think) for several years. I just upgraded to a C3 Pro helmet from Schuberth with the SRC built into the neck roll (also made by cardo). It is night and day difference. Not only can I hear, but people can hear me. I had a conversation at 80 mph with my dad for about an hour yesterday while slabbing it home from LA. He said he couldn't tell I was on a bike. This helmet/bluetooth combo is the shizzle. Matter of fact, I had just ordered a new comms set from eBay before I found the helmet. I'll be sending it back because I'm sticking with this setup for the foreseeable future.
