I think any of the real synthetics are excellent.

Use the same oil, take samples at different mileage intervals, and send it to a lab for analysis. It's relatively cheap, it also helps to determine engine health, design your own intervals, and it cuts down on the stupid questions. Anybody who tries to espouse that the stupid question is the one that isn't asked.....is the one that asks the most stupid questions, or their wife makes most of their decisions for them.

So after all of this I am so f..king confused. Not really, I have read almost everything posted on this subject and have come to the conclusion that NO ONE has the perfect answer other than (any engine suffers the most at start up) as long as you have an oil with a SJ or greater additive no matter syth or conventional this is the greatest protection an oil can give. Polymers break down in size from what I have read and conventional is almost as good at keeping those polymers in equal size for heat protection as syth in the thread that I have read. I am not a real gear head and don't care as long as the bikes heart is taken care of. So I will change my oil for the first time myself on this bike at 4,000 after the break-in and a first oil change by the dealer providing Honda PRO4 full syth. I take all of your experience into consideration on what I choose. I will take the difference at 4,000 miles or annually if less from the 8,000 mile suggestion from te manufacture. "NOW ON TO COOLANT CHANGES" just kidding.

    Thanks everyone!

LMAO, I keep seeing you as "House" on these responses! LMAO. I hear his voice on your responses as I read them. Love it. You don't even post you bike or anything else. Do you need some Vicodin? or are you going to make it with your boss! Or did you!

    Oil threads.

God, if you spent 1/10th of the attention you spend on oil on politics, staying informed about current events, and world travel, we wouldn't be in this terrible, rotten, pickle.

Expecting any corporation, wholesaler, distributor, salesmanperson to say anything less that whatever they are pitching is the best stuff since canned mashed spuds, indicates a need for some ear wax removal and a laxative for the dude schlepping whatever it is they are schlepping. Those old Chinese guys had it right when they said, "Caveat Emptor."

House was a Honda rider. Norcalboy has left the fold. Seeking his lost sheep in Italy.

So back to this thread. I am going with the Motul. I'm at 4356 miles and want to get this done quick. They only sell it on the site that I am looking at in 10w-40 not the 10w-30 that is recommended. Any thoughts. Also and in any oil filter thoughts for the 2014. Thanks.

At the price of Motul V3000 here (AU$120 for 4L), it depends on how many oil changes you do.

You can get 300v for $63.00 delivered to your home. Many places sell it for that.
