Lock set finally arrived from Honda so the panniers could be keyed to match my ignition key, these oem panniers are much smaller than any others I've had on bikes, but I do like the fit and finish of them. :)

Looks great! I need to order a set sometime soon. They'd be nice to have on a 4-5 day jaunt....

I got a top box used that I figure will hold us over on overnight trips, but I have to go to a locksmith today to try to get the inner cylinder out so I can re-key it with the kit...

Thx! I think I might do soft luggage for tank and tail bags, still looking at options though...

was it easy to key the tumblers in the lock set? online instructions seem tedious...but reading it and doing it may be two different things? I assume the locks are sold individually, ie you need two?

Can you fit a full-face helmet in them? Like a Shoei Qwest in XL, for example? I'm debating going with panniers or the top case.

Yes, you have to buy 2 locks. They take a little time to assemble but not too bad. Once you do the first one, the second is easy. Download instructions from Honda powersports. I don't think you can fit a helmet - I will have to try.

The top box will fit the helmet. Just another $900+ investment for a single box! I mean.. the mount is very sturdy and made of metal, but the price is just too much.

Thank you so much for checking. It looks like a tight fit. Will it close?

Yes wouldn't have been much point in taking a pic with it closed. May vary from manufacturer to manufacturer tho. Would also use a helmet bag

Good to see and enjoy! I want them, but due to the space in a single car garage, fitting both the bike and the car in wwithout f...king them one of them up is impossible. Ride Safe!

The pannier on exhaust side is smaller due to the cut out

XL - I tried both sides. Big head with lots of dead brain cells.

A Shoei Qwest in XL is my exact helmet. It does seem like a rather large helmet, compared to others. I guess the top case is the way to go for me.
