I have just recently put stock clip-ons back on my 2000 VFR that was modified with off-road bars by a PO . I also got some new throttle cables. Because I bought it modified, I don't have a guideline to use for routing my new throttle cables around/through the forks. I was hoping someone could snap an overhead shot of the triple tree to help me out... please?

It's not the clearest photo; the service manual has good diagrams, do you have that?

IMG_0066.JPG That actually appears to be how I have it routed. For some reason, my ignition portion rubs the cables when I turn the bars to the right, increasing revs, and it also has slightly torn the outer portion of the cable. I was considering going behind the brake line, but now I'm not sure. Do yours rub at all? Is there some component that keeps them off the ignition? I have the Clymer - I'll take another look and see if I overlooked it.

Here's the diagram from the service manual.

Thank you very much for that! I really appreciate it. I'll give it another go this evening :)

All good now. Turns out I had it routed correctly, but it was rubbing because I didn't have the cables 'clipped' to the fork. A zip tie sorted it out completely. Evening ride was successful . Thanks again.

Terry, or that VFRguy... could you please re-upload that diagram or PM it? I am struggling with the same issue and cannot figure the correct cable routing. The cables seem too short, even though I recently switched to 3inch extended ones. I also forgot what was the original routing.

Photos aren't as useful or as clear the FSM's line drawings, and Clymer tells you nothing on the subject.

Raising an old thread, I have an issue with my throttle cables at full lock either way not returning to closed if the throttle is let go. It was worse and I've fiddled and cleaned everything and now it's this last bit.
Routing seems right, it's not rocket science. Cables are smooth as is the return action on the carb.
    Any suggestions?

It will help to know what year your VFR is.
The diagram above is for '98-'01 models.
You mention "carb", which suggests an earlyer year model.
