I had been interested in adding a quickshifter to my 8g VFR but found it was somewhat cost prohibitive. US prices were ~$250 before shipping, but you could order them from the EU for ~$200.

Checking the Japan Web!ke site, they had them for $150 + 10 shipping. Now that's in the budget. I ordered two (one for the wife's bike,) and they shipped out today. Maybe this will help someone else who was wanted one.

Always good to keep an eye on the Japanese shops. Have had some good deals from them in the past. Good find.

Shit sorry, I thought I had a for sure link for you. I bought mine last year so I think that with all of the discounted F bikes the demand exceeded the stock. But if you get them for the price I guess the wait is worth while. :)

Thtanner, may I ask you follow up when you receive/install and test your new quick shifter? From a close look at the photos I'd say it looks like decent quality

Sure; they're an OEM Honda piece. Not a reproduction or aftermarket. Here is what it looks like installed:

Now I know what that plastic plug on the bike is for! It keeps backing out after a couple hundred miles. Thanks looks sharp! I've been clutchless shifting and every so often I'll find neutral when I want 3rd or 4th. I'd buy it!

So is this doable on your own in the garage? I change my own oil. Lift tank to change filter, have most tools. I also have the shop manual... Also, am I to understand you ordered from Japan on Sunday and got it installed already?

Yes it's a very simple install. The hardest part is removing the plastics to connect the connector.

I ordered mine on Friday, and it shipped Sunday. They are sitting in customs right now, so I'll probably have them before the weekend. That's not my image, but a generic one.

Yes. It has a connector from the ECU already wired that you use. The 6g doesn't have that. This may work on newer VFR800X's though.

Hardest part is removing the plastics, once you have access it is very easy.

Quickshifters landed today. They were even the updated D11 part number. I'll slap them on over the weekend and report back.

Ordered mine also. Came out to $210CDN delivered with tracking. Thant's $250 less than my dealer quoted me. Hopefully get it next week. I'm just worried I get taxed but it would still be cheaper than the dealer...

Yup the old import tax is a bastard if you don't include it in your calculations, especially the £8 chunk the greedy post office take too.
