    Hi all,

I've been Googling and poking around these forums trying to find a solid lead on some decent grip covers for my 8th gen. I've seen members make mention of Grab On and Grip Puppies. I have tried Grab On, but they are too big (diameter) for our stock grips, so I returned those. Does anyone on an 8th gen have Grip Puppies or something else they would recommend? Our bar grips are 7/8" diameter, correct?

I'm on a DLX, so I don't want to swap out the bars and lose the heated grip option. Also, from experience, the Strada 7 foam grips are garbage; they lasted all of 2 weeks before partially tearing in pressure spots, then completely ripped in half by 2 months. They were also fairly slippery, so I had to hold tightly while riding to keep the throttle steady.

I'm happy to go with foam grips, but might prefer leather.

    Thanks in advance!

Those look pretty solid and worth a try. Thanks for the recommendation--just ordered a set!

I also have been using these on my Busa for the last 3 years. Bought a set for my gen 8 soon as I bought her a couple months back. Best money spent for sure. They hold up well too.

I have grip puppies on mine. When I first put them on, it made the grips feel kinda fat, but I got used to them pretty quickly. I do like them. I was having some pain in my hands and I was considering raising the bars, but since adding the grip puppies, my hands don't bother me anymore.

Putting Grip Puppies on cuts the heated grip function in 1/2

Living in Texas I guess that really doesn't matter

Grip Puppies are on my CBR which has no heated grips

Yes true jjk, none of the foam grips last long, the worst being Baja grips, absolute fekker to get on without tearing then a few weeks later they're in tatters

Mine still look like new on my Busa. About 3 years and 9500 miles. Florida sun, some rain. Not a daily commuter, but in the elements. Guess I got lucky.

I know this is an old post but wanted to add my 2 cents, my grip puppies on almost a year, working fine, little to no impact on the heat settings. Can only run them at 1 or 2 anyway, they're freakin' hot.

What am I missing here? I have never used anything on the stock grips. So I guess that with gloves on the neoprene does not allow as much slip. I really have never had a issue. Maybe I am not riding as hard as I should. Let me know. Thanks.

If you're not hitting 68 degree lean angles than you should be riding harder :D

I'm in the same boat as you Bubba, stick with the stock grips , have decent gloves which provide me with enough grip. Cant see what the problem is as your not really supposed to "grip" the bars only hold them loosely.

Ummm. Not yet and maybe never. I like my knees though they do ache a lot!;-) And I don't think my back due to recent injury would take that as well.:surrender:

They are not for a better purchase, but rather a better feel. They make the oem grips just a bit larger diameter and softer. Your hands will, appreciate the girth, and the little bit of vibration is nearly gone.
