    This!

A few years ago there was a young girl from Australia that came to the states to ride. Prior to coming here, she was paralyzed from the waist down due to a riding accident and essentially a bike, very similar to this Yamaha, allowed her to ride and lean like a true motorcycle. She did a whole blog over at VFRD but after their server crash, not sure if the thread was saved. If I recall correctly, the bike was built by her fiance from a kit, don't recall the bike it was built from but I recall there being a few challenges due to the lack of the use of her legs. I believe that the front brake had two levers, one for the front brake the other for the rear brake. I wish I could remember her screen name or even the thread name.

After looking at some of the comments, somebody had posted a pic of the girl on the bike she brought to the states. It was based on a KTM...

When you take up as much road as a car; you might as well be in a cage.

I disagree with that. Its like telling a ATV rider they need to be in a 4x4 truck to be off road. Its about the feel you get when you ride with the elements batting at you for some, and the mobility, freedom and acceleration of a smaller vehicle.

I'm used to riding in countries where 2-wheel vehicle outnumber cars, riding a bike between car mirrors is just expected.

It's illegal to split lanes in most part of the US, simply because drivers in the US are not expecting bikes or motorcycles to go where they can easily operate safely. Most drivers freak out when they see it occurs and operate their cars in such ways that endanger rider or other vehicles on the road.

3-wheel scooters with added width are simply not as ideal when compared with regular motorcycles for operating in tight places. For that reason, they might as well have a cage surround the rider to provide better protection... but adding a cage add significant weight, decrease the power-to-weight ratio to make the vehicle less maneuverable.. therefore.. might as well be driving a car.. get some climate control, airbags for comfort & safety.

3 wheels might not be ideal but someone who loves to ride and can no longer do 2 wheels can still have fun on 3.

Motorcyclist did a review of the leaning, 3-wheeled Piaggio scooter. They said it had fantastic riding characteristics thanks to the added traction up front. I am curious to see how that thing will behave when pushed hard into corners. Braking should be PHENOMENAL.
