They should do custom sizing. Maybe this has changed. Last time I shopped for leathers I could not find pants that fit. If the waist was right, the inseam was too damn long, and the knee pads were on my shins. Until I stuffed the legs into boots and force the thigh area to accordion. :mad-new:

Decided to go with Z Custom. Best fitting suit I ever had and most comfortable footwear ever. Unfortunately last I checked he no longer did custom boots.

This would be open to all who wish to participate so long as the TGs do not want to demonstrate peeing whilst standing. I think a surcharge could be added for janitorial services in case of too many entrants in this category.

As appealing as this idea sounds, I would not make it a requirement for "the ladies" or entering same as a single garment. I would also add that any graphics added should at least be motorcycle oriented.

    For boots try here:

    http://dehner.com/index.html

Various military and law enforcement gear including CHP, B52 alert crews, Mercury and Gemini. These are not instant gratification items. Takes aboot three months for delivery.

Yes they are. Check out the California list of dealers to see what you are paying for. Consider too that most of the boots are custom made with all sorts of choices in leather. One of the reasons for the choice Uncle Sam made to buy the Dehners for Mercury, Gemini, the B52 crews and the X-15 program is because sometime all that is left after a crash is the feet. Footprints are part of aircrew members records..

I have no affiliation with this company. I do have three pair and my first pair lasted 35 years.

Cycle Gear. The suit I have is on clearance there now, so I just bought another pair of the pants.

Would you be kind enough to post up a link to your suit? Diannese is hard to find around here. I am only aware of one shop that carries them in the whole Greater Vancouver Regional District. I have been looking for a new two piece suit as mine (bought in 06 and probably has upwards of 100,000 km worn) is just about run its course. If what you have in SD is relatively cool for you, it will certainly be good for me up here in our summers. I am going into the city today for some computer training and was going to stop at that shop to fit myself for a suit. If the price is right at Cycle Gear, with the exchange rate and the duties I will have to pay, it might be worthwhile for me to order from them. Please and thanks.

This is the suite I bought at cycle gear plus some Alpine Star boots—walked out spending $1400
This suite now is a close out item— the girl helping me was awesome and raced, gave me a huge discount

FYI all, Fall line ups are being released by almost all gear makers, so there should be closeouts from Dainese, Alpinestars, Spidi, Rev'It, etc. All of the major outlets should have stuff on closeout or discount. One place that many may not shop anymore is Motorcycle Super Store. They are merging with J&P Cycles and are getting rid of a ton of inventory, Dainese, Alpinestars, Icon, just to name a few. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/

Randy, Dainese 2 piece suits are sold as a set and the jacket is paired to work with the pants, these are NOT compatible with the separates like what 01Ragtop purchased. The zippers that attached the two pieces together are different on the suits than on the separates.

Additionally, the 2 piece suit jackets do not work well as a stand alone jacket, the back is too short and does not give much coverage for the lower back. The separate jackets are designed to work stand alone or paired with non 2 piece suit pants. The separates allow for much more interchangeable sets of gear. For instance, you can pair a textile jacket with leather pants or a leather jacket with a pair of textile pants or vented jacket with non vented pants and vice verse. Just about any of the separate pieces can be paired together, with some minor exceptions. I have two different sets of textile separates that I can cross pair if I wanted to but usually wear the non vented pieces together and the vented pieces together.

Some other items found on the separates that are not found on the 2 piece suits are hand warmer pockets, wind proof and/or thermal liners on the jackets and front pockets (some times rear pockets too) on the pants.

Thanks for that OOTV. Those are important issues for my type of riding. Pockets especially are really a desired thing. It is a pain relying solely on one inside jacket pocket.

I just bought a new three season Textile from Olympia and am quite impressed with that. But I am wanting to replace my leathers at this time. I have been looking about and am drawn towards Dainese and looks like what ragtop has bought, fits the bill pretty good. Not jus the pockets and perforation. I also like the collar far better than what I had on my two Joe Rocket leather suits.

But you are correct, sort of. If I had to settle on just one suit, in the climate I live in, and the weather I ride in, I would have settled with the Olympia alone.
So far it has kept me dry. Could not say that with the fkk'n Tourmaster I had before. That was one piece of shit it was. The Cortech Corporation really failed me too. Another long story already told here in another thread.

BTW. What the hell are you doing up at around 02:30 replying to threads and making my cell phone make noise that pisses off my wife when she is sleeping. I am going to tell her where you live.

One thing that blew my mind when buying my Dainese $600 jacket, doesn’t come with a back protector, you have to buy separately.
I just upgraded all my protection on my Tourmaster jacket and it was an easy swap

Yeah, I just bought the back protector for my jacket after wearing it for a while without one.

BTW, the jacket that I posted doesn't have pockets, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find one that does.
