    Hi Everyone.

I've been lurking here since I actually decided to buy my first bike (maybe 18 months ago).

I'm 39, this was a mid-life crisis situation and I didn't want to go through the steps of learning, upgrading, upgrading, upgrading a few times over before I landed on a solid bike for me.

Bought an '07 Anniversary edition about a year ago, finally got the time and the nuts to take the class and test to ride it 3 months ago. It's been a cooooold winter so I haven't ridden a ton but the times I have, this bike and it's style has suited me. I crave any afternoon over 45 degrees F.

Just wanted to introduce myself and also note that my bike only came with 1 key, a warped and worn one at that. I went online and ordered a couple blanks to have cut to replace and have as extra. The online place I ordered it from actually had ridiculous pricing so I could order 10 blanks for the same price as 2.

So, as a HELLO, I'd like to offer the other 8 blanks to anyone who wants / needs one or 2.

Please limit it to 1 if you can or if you really need 2, that's cool too. I'll put it in an envelope at my cost and send it out within the next few days... what's $0.46 amongst friends.

    Blank is noted as:
    HD109 / X265 HONDA JMA KEY BLANK

If you don't want to include real name or whatever that's fine. I'll send them to wherever for whomever.

    Hail players!

Welcome to the World. I don't know how you could let that beauty sit without riding it for that long. I would have gone mad. Well, madder than I already am. How many miles are on that bike that the key is showing signs of wear? I can see the warp and bend. That happens easy enough but wear. My bike has well over 130,000 miles and sure there is wear, but not even close to be concerned about cutting a new one. But what ever. Seeing as you have 10, if it were me, I would cut three for myself. Two always go with you when you ride, and one in a safe place at home. My opinion for what it is worth.

Bike has 14,000 miles on it. But yes, the key looks like it's been put through the ringer... maybe lost and run over a few dozen times? Even the plastic on the end is pretty chewed up. I'm actually concerned that they won't be able to get a crisp edge when they cut the new ones and I'll end up having to get a couple factory cut from Honda (sounds expensive).

It's been so GD cold in Atlanta the past few weeks... 32 degrees mid-day today. 13 degrees when I woke up today. May get to ride next week when it warms up in between downpours.

I think a good licenced locksmith should be able to cut you a new one from the codes. I could be wrong on that. I wonder if the odometer on your bike has rolled and you actually have 114000 miles on it. The odometer rolls at 100,000. What do the foot pegs look like. If it has a lot of miles, the rubber pads on the foot pegs will be worn. You can also verify the odometer by switching it over to "km" instead of "miles" there are metric conversion charts all over the net to do the math for you.

Yeah I'm pretty sure of the mileage. Everything inside and out is consistant with a 14,000ish mile bike. ODO is in miles. All original except seat and exhaust. All in good shape all around but the key is funked. Bought from a dealer too so any sign of goofiness... there would actually be accountability. Footpegs also have extremely modest wear. Couple tiny scrapes commensurate with a 10 year old bike. I'm pretty sure it's on the up and up. Ran the VIN before I bought it too - no red flags.

Hi there, I too just recently purchased a bike this past summer.

It was a 2 owner 2003 with 8037 kms that had been in storage. The original owner had it stored and passed away, the 2nd owner owned it for a year and didn’t even ride it due to back problems.

I too looked at getting some blanks as my bike only came with 1 key as well. I’d be willing to pay for a couple keys and or cost of mail as well as I’m in Canada.

It is a very nice gesture and thanks in advance regardless of your decision.

    Thanks,
    Jamie

Just opened the pack of blanks... they sent the wrong ones. They sent HD114 NP HOND-33
I'm just looking at them now... They actually sent HD114 blanks instead of HD109. After some research I've found that they may be identical. I emailed the company from which I ordered them and will wait for them to confirm tomorrow.

It physically fits in the ignition - The only difference is the neck on my original key is a good bit longer.

Assuming it's all good, I'll send those 2 blanks to you whenever you get me an address, don't worry about postage :)

Your post made me realize that my extra key in my safe dose me no good on the road and that traveling with a spare is a good idea.
