4-piston brake calipers on fork VF 1000 F? They are necessary?

    Hello everyone from Spain.

I am a fan of classic motorcycles or motorcycles with a few years like you want to call it haha

I really like the VF 1000 F Interceptor, although at the moment I do not have one in my possession, if I am reporting its strengths and weaknesses.

For reasons of costs many people decide to improve the front fork and I also contemplate that option but the fear I have is to improve it and that the 2-piston calipers do not give the expected result in terms of braking ability.
With direct metal hoses one to each brake caliper and a radial pump improves the braking power without wanting more?

Has anyone mounted a 4-piston caliper on the original fork?

The cbr 600f2 discs are 276mm equal to those of vf 1000 f but those of vfr rc 36 are already 296 mm
With those discs or that measure and some adapters could you install a 4 piston calipers?
    Any particular model?
Do you sell adapters to mount other brake calipers on the forks with TRAC system? The particularity of these models is the anchoring of the left brake caliper on the fork is different to the right side.

I would appreciate all kinds of opinions and comments.

Since I would like to inform me on this topic, user opinions.

    A greeting.

The length of the forks needed for a relatively straight forward swap or the TRAC mount on the original forks is exactly why you don't see a bunch of conversions. Anything is possible, but it starts getting involved and potentially expensive pretty fast.

Here's a couple examples of what can happen. (Edit: The 2nd one is a Photoshop?)
Notice the handlebar conversion on the first one due to the length of the forks used.

Hi, Captain 80s, thank you for answering me.
Both pictures I have seen several times browsing through the internet.
The first model has some VTR forks and is from a member of this forum.
The second photo seems to have a GSXr 1000 fork installed with 6-piston brake calipers.

Let's see if Jamie Daugherty sees this thread and pronounces it. I have read him saying that the conversion to the forks of VTR could get to touch the wheel with the engine, I do not know this, I would need more information or talk to the owner of the motorcycle to ask him.

The ideal is to change the entire front end to improve the suspension, rim, and brake calipers + brake discs but you tell me that you would have to add the installation of a handlebar and an upper triple on the fork to support the handlebar.

Hence the idea of whether someone had mounted 4-piston calipers from another model on the fork. Improving the original fork is cheaper than changing the entire fork and you guarantee you will not have possible wheel friction with the engine.

I'm a mess and I need a lot more information so I ask them.

    A greeting.

The original sliding piston calipers are not bad brakes, and provided they are well maintained (clean seals and pistons, lubed slider pins) and some decent pads are used (I like EBC HH) with braided lines, they should have plenty of power. It is worth remembering that you get some additional mechanical advantage for a smaller disc on those 16" front wheels. If you were going racing then more brakes are better, but I would not ditch them for most street use.

Still not convinced that 2nd bike is real. What is that behind the front wheel? And I doubt a 92 VFR wheel plays nicely with GSXR upside down forks. The bars also look turned too far to the left in relation to how the wheel appears to be pointing.

But I am often wrong, so who knows.

No, never seen one of those, but it does look like a nice motorcycle. What is it?

    Thanks, Terry.

I appreciate your opinion, my intention is to improve the fork and put EBC HH tablets, metal hoses in addition to joints and new seals in the clamps. And if a radial brake pump according to the touch and power to stay with all the above.

The idea is to optimize the existing maximum without going to extreme modifications conserving the original aesthetic.
What I would put is the 17 "wheel kit by Jaimie Daugerthy to use modern radial tires.

I am collecting all the information possible since I still do not have a VF 1000 F and now look at everything I have in mind to do it hahaha

It is appreciated the opinion of fans of these classic Honda bikes that I love. Greetings to all.
