I just had a new thought. Now I am exhausted! But here it is regardless.

The R3 get together appears to have run it's course and it was an absolute glorious event. I am so glad I took in a few of those events. My only regret is not having gone to more of them. Thank you Reg and his wonderful wife Terri.

Now. Can we do something new to try to fill that spot? Who here would be interested in shipping their golf clubs and riding to an event? A Ride'n Putt! I know there are a few golfers here, probably pretty good at it too. There are probably many more who are just hackers or small time pitch and putters.

I would think that if we could select a location more central, to those of us in North America at least, where we could ship our clubs, ride our bikes to and from, and have a tournament, a dinner at the club, festivities after the game, and a couple rides either before the game or after or both. I am open for any suggestions but I thought that somewhere in the Colorado area could fit the bill.

I am sure we could find a few businesses who would be happy to put up some small token type prizes for any number of goals reached during the game. Closest to the hole, hole in one, most honest player and so on. There is no need to worry about being a good golfer. There is a tournament scoring plan that really equalizes the advantages of good/poor golfers. I think it is called the Calloway System. I am a real hacker when it comes to golf, but I entered a Legion Memorial Golf Tournament many years ago back in Winnipeg. I was arguably the worst golfer there. Matter of fact, I borrowed my old man's clubs and ensured he had a whole new stash of brand new golf balls by the end of the game. I lost over 20 of his. But I won the tourney. My name was engraved on the cup.

So please let us know. Who is interested? This is not an event...yet. Just exploring the possibilities.

Need one more category: haul/trailer bike; ride & play @ event.

It was more about hauling the clubs

If there is enough interest, I will do what I can to make it happen. Might be a little tough, me being Canadian and speaking with that Canajun accent eh. Y'all down there may not understand it and may wonder what I am talking aboot. huh?

Ya. Like yo down there, our accents are very regional. Newfies have quite the accent. Certain sayings are very regional too. My kids sometimes have to ask me what I mean when I utter some phrases because we live on the west coast, but I am from Manitoba. We love our jam busters there.

Like I mentioned in the original post, there is a scoring method called the Calloway System that actually makes it possible for a poor golfer to be the grand prize or tournament first place. I have no idea how it works, but I would learn that if this becomes a reality.

I can't see why you would not be able to be accommodated if this is a go.

I'd be willing to give it a go as long as I don't have to play with another man's balls.

Seeing as you said you had never golfed, I had in mind you would be our official ball scrubber.

Seems there is very little interest. Too bad. But we can give it some more time to see if more interest develops.

Well, it does take this group some time to make up their minds. As much as I love the hospitality of Reg and Terri, I think there needs to be something new and perhaps being in a different area may allow some of the folks who couldn't (or wouldn't) attend a chance to join in the festivities. I'm a big maybe however, as I have most of my plans for this year laid out and most involve track time, with a touring ride (or two) that I attend annually and semi annually.

That is why I was suggesting it might be held in the Colorado area, more central to all of us in North America, yet still close to what I presume is some very good riding. I just might discover a need to head out that way on the bike and scout out some locations with executive type courses and nice rides around. I hate getting stuck with all the chores.
