Looked for a spot to install a voltmeter + USB-ports, haven't found a proper location (yet).

I'm thinking of just taping it to the left side of the motorcycle with some velcro-stuff, directly to the metal frame where the knee-joint is, there is some space.
I don't plan on having it active all the time, just check the voltage every so often, so I can switch it on and off with rocket switch.

Just for the sake of information, it looks like this :D

Where are your voltmeters installed, guys? :)

Couple days ago... installed a set of T-rex frame and axle sliders and added some tank pads.

A note about the sliders, I had to file down the points on the clutch side axle spacer/puck mount to make it fit inside the axle. Also, the frame bolts hold some smaller pieces (bolts, spacers) inside the frame as well. Having one of those magnet sticks is handy if you drop any of those pieces. [IMG]

I know that a lot of roads in California have similar scenery, not even sure if you're in CA but this looks like the road to Crystal Lake, is it?

Installed full set (F&R) of EBC HH pads and put the wheels with the Road 5 tires on my 6 Gen. Hopefully I can get a little ride in before the rain hits more steadily.

Just for something different I headed out on a Suspension Tuning Ride day, organised by a local m/c training provider, and featuring the redoubtable Dave Moss as the star. https://feelthetrack.com/

The format for the day was turn up with your bike, the organisers had helpers to check total suspension travel and Dave himself measured rider sag and added a ziptie to the forks. After some introductory chit chat we rode as a group (about 20 bikes) for around 40km of bumpy twisty open roads, then stopped for travel checks (hence the ziptie) and discussions around how our bikes were feeling/handling. Dave worked his way through the bikes again and made preload adjustments where necessary, and also checked rebound settings.

Another 30 minutes or so of country roads then a lunch stop. Dave went around the bikes again and made some further tweaks to adjusters and we had a Q&A session with him focusing on feel, maintenance and tyres/pressures.

We had a couple of more stops before a final Q&A.

Unlike most of the others, my bike made it through with little change. He added 5mm preload to the forks, and backed off a half turn of rebound, and I'd have to say the effect was positive and made for a more supple ride. At the back, zero, nada, zilch, no changes. I think this is a testament to the combination of Racetech springs and Gold Valves in my CBR600F4 fork, and the Daugherty Motorsports shock in the back. My final settings were front preload 3 rings showing (0.9kg/mm springs), 1.4 turns rebound, 1 turn compression, rear preload 3rd setting, 1.5 turns rebound, 1 turn compression.

Anyway, a good day of riding with a good bunch of guys, and great discussions on my favourite topic, suspension!

    Great day Terry.
What did that set you back?
I've never heard of them being run here and would join if I had the possibility, but like you I'm happy with my suspension and think I have it pretty spot on.
Just got back from a 3000km ride to Phillip Island for the WSBK, and removed one thin shim from the front rebound before leaving as the high speed rebound was out of step with the rear.
    It is now spot on,
Around 100km of dirt roads, did the Bonang and the Alpine Way, both with 100s of kilometres of 35 to 45 kph corners one after the other, it was a blast.
One of my mates is an instructor for California Superbike School, it was good having him behind and him pointing out some of my bad habits, as well as getting pointers on where to improve.
No matter how old you are, there is always room to improve.

After like what feels like forever, as the last ride of value was back in Sept. so even though today it was just around the long block, man did that feel good, that and took the little one out too.

    Yeah, man!
These small rides after some "riding-abstinence" are truly the sweetest.

They scratch the itch just right. And even if they're just small rides, it doesn't matter, you are on a bike, the bike is running and you're riding, that's what matters most :D

The cost was NZ$175, fairly trivial in the big scheme of things. I’m also a convert to more training and have done a couple of Ride Forever courses in the last 6 months.

How many 0.15 shims are in your rebound stack now?

    I had 8 x 0.15 and 1 x 0.1 on each.
    I took away the 0.1.
My rebound pistons have much larger ports than the Racetech ones and have a slightly larger inner diameter , so all my main shims are 18mm, the rest are as per Racetech stacks.
It was working well before except when pushed, changing over from hard braking to throttle at apex I was having the front come up slower than the rear, so it felt like a little wallow that I couldn't dial out with the slow speed adjustment.
At first I thought it was the rear shock, but no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of it.
After testing it on 3000km of Australia's windiest roads I'm now very happy with it.
It is actually a soft set up, it absorbes bumps miles better then it did before and is very forgiving and predictable.
My mate has been a great help with little bits of information, and I'm thinking of doing the Superbike school, but time is a bit hard to come by. He can lap Phillip Island in 1:41, but unfortunately has no idea about suspension, go figure.

Nothing to big today, rain is keeping me from spraying my fairings. I went to Harbor Freight and bought their chain breaker tool. I need to replace the master link, as I put it on incorrectly. Took a Dremel to the pins sticking out, then replaced it. The HF chain breaker can also be used to install it. Worked well!

Dismantled my bike today after a 3000km trip and gave it a good clean.
After lots of dirt roads, road works and new bitumen being layed as we were riding through it, it was badly needed.

    BC9085F7-670C-4F37-89B7-F6B35633DB33.jpg

Found that I now have a leaking water pump, and I broke a front guard bracket, the same one I broke on my last trip to Phillip Island last year.
We did cover lots of miles on dirt roads that tend to shake the bike to pieces.
All fixed now, it only took me 15 minutes to make a new one, the water pump will have to wait. It only leaks when the temperature drops as it did the night we stayed at the Snowy Mountains.
