It's funny too, this isn't listed under their driving or riding sections. It's under "fishing" section. It works though.

Hey at least it has someone with a helmet on! Great beer, low alcohol 4.0! They are going to cans ( Bought out by some bigger Brewery) and I may have to stop drinking due to that. Craft beer does not come in cans IMO!

What the hell is this, I get that it is a mounting system but for what? So how does anything connect to it. Let me know with pics. Thanks.

Its just a standard 1" ball mount for RAM products,..

You can mount well,.. ANYTHING to it with the corresponding appropriate mount for a given widget~

I use an X mount for my phone in my workvan and on the beast's steering hub hole,.. and on the bass boat i use the same setup for my fish finders and gps gadgets etc,..

(I am too lazy to post pics I apologize)

This is what I use for my phone / gps. Works well. Never had an issue with the mount being loose or come out while riding. Hope this helps.

That is fricken huge. How do you see the instrument panel! ;-) I had trouble seeing my temp gauge and a possible engine cease. I was lucky to have it on engine temp and not outdoor temp. I guess this works well for you, and others that go distance. But, I will use a map and a occasional stop to connect. Plus I don't need video to date my fuck ups. :) I guess that I am old school. For me the gadgets pre- occupy you and distract you like a cager driver looking at a cell phone. If my phone is right in front of me on my bike I will be distracted even with a good head set. And, if you don't know where you are going then you did not do your research IMO. The only add on that I did have and disliked the quality was a blue tooth head set for my phone. Phone in the bag, Comm sucked so I took it off until I can afford a Sema system. Only two things that I need to know when riding. One, Bike is good. Two, tell the family I will be home for dinner. Oh wait I am single. So Mom & Dad, I did not die today! ;-)

It’s no bigger than a cell phone. And doesn’t block anything. It’s adjustable so you put it where you want it. To be honest even with the phone there I don’t look at it. I have a sena headset and the Bluetooth is great. Streams the music and directions if needed.

It spin left or right if I move it. But once it is in place it stays. it’s a snug fit with the option of adjustments. When I first installed it I worried about it coming out. But have not had an issue with this mount.

took the moto out for a ride on Sunday. Great weather. About 76 and windy. But did notice that the rear tire was at 19psi and the front at 24psi. No wonder I was getting great traction in the corners.

I am impressed with the X-grip. If you look at my photo from earlier, you'll see the phone setup, the phone sits vertically. Although I have the rubber strap, I don't always use it (just being lazy). However, even on very bumpy roads and a few large pot hole hits, the phone never moves! If i'm going to be on long runs, I usually use the rubber strap but on short runs, I normally don't and so far...knock on wood...the X-grip has done its job.

Today I am track prepping my bike. It's had the oil changed 200 miles ago. New Galfer Sintered brake pads, and so far today I've changed the plugs to brand new NGK CR9EH-9. I was in for a surprise though. One of the two previous owners dropped a hose clamp into the spark plug well, on top of the plug, under the plug wire. How the hell that wire was even on enough to work, I don't know. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the Honda spark plug tool on the number three plug. Thankfully, I have a looong pair of needle nose pliers. I blindly pinched at the plug because I thought it was already loose and this came up.

    20180313_141407.jpg

And, on top of that, all the plugs were insufficiently tightened, they all had blowby on the threads. Correctly installed now. They all looked good, but the owner previous to me never changed them.

I'm off to grab more Plasti-Dip to put one more heavy coat on the fairings, then for the heck of it, some metallizer. Probably going to look like a bass boat, but it will be unique... o_O

Okay, update, all fairings and the tank are sprayed and drying. In the morning so the plastic goes back on.

Silver metallizer on red Plasti-Dip turns it pink, or is that lightish-red? Had to respray the tail section back to red. I have a few glitches on the tank. I ended up using too much dip and when I pulled the tape, even though it was wet, it goofed up the edges. Oh well. Down the road I'll peel it and respray it.

I'm finally off of my Plasti-Dip high. I'll post pics after I get it assembled in the morning. I may try the metallizer on the wheels next week. Since they are black dip, it should turn out a lot better.

Well, Bikeflip like you said it was neglected so it may be a long and frustrating process. I don't know the condition and am not a real wrencher to take on a project like that. I do know frustration. Imagine a new bike with less than 6,000 miles having a radiator cap go bad and boil out on the top of a canyon road. I was at the same point. So good luck and keep trying or like you said give up on the bike and move on. Take care and good luck.
