I still have June 29th, 30th threw the 3rd of July slated for a trip solo or not. Free lodging for the 29th,30th and 31st at my bosses property called Rancho Fandango in Moab www.elranchofandango.com. 2 bedrooms and a fold out bed. kitchen with every thing to cook with and a bbq outside. Safe neighborhood for the bikes. Still looking for any takers. You can ride around in some spectacular scenery. Itinerary not needed just plan a ride for that day and go. I can probably get another bungalow if people pipe in soon. Take Care A.M glad you are feeling better.

Bubba ... I'll be down in SD this summer (early June or September when the roads aren't busy there). The lady and I are planning it as a short trip to get her ready for longer ones - she loves to go riding but she's not used to sitting on the bike for long.

I will likely also be heading out to VA to ride with a friend and his son through to WV.

Hey Jeff, good to see a post from you. I really didn't get much info on your reply. Are you saying that a Utah ride is possible with my timeline? I know that youa are riding all the time here and there like A.M. Just a little vauge but I know things are always changing. Take Care and good to see you are around.

Hey Bubba, thanks! Great to hear from you as well! I went a bit silent for awhile there. All the changes in my life, job, divorce, lawyers, etc ... I'm finally coming through the end of the tunnel and into the light now.

Might be a possibility - I was thinking if you wanted to slide up into SD instead though, maybe we'd meet you there - the riding and scenery is amazing. Lisa now has a full set of riding gear, and we're working on getting her an intercom as well.

I just ordered a new set of shoes for Storm, and I'll be getting her a new chain as well .. I should be set for the season with those.

Regardless, keep me in the loop on your plans. If I can make it happen, I will.

I really don't have the vacation time to go to SD. But if you find that my dates in Utah fit it would be a good time. Especially if A.M or others could make it.

To clarify those dates, June 29th to July 3rd ?

I wonder what the meeting point would be?

Moab, Utah. And the date of meeting would be 29th that Friday afternoon or late afternoon at the lodge (Ranchofandago.com) again free of charge and a full kitchen fridge, dishwasher, pots, pans, dishes etc. It is located in the neighborhoods of Moab so really pretty safe for the bikes rather than some camp sites and comfortable as well. No need for camping gear for me or anyone.

I was planning on riding down Friday morning late and getting settled in (dinner, beer or a bar or two within walking distance) and the go from there. Wake up and Ride Saturday and Sunday with no planned route until arrival and the heading out maybe Monday morning late. Again no real set plan other than hopefully meeting up with a couple of people and getting some tips and having a blast riding around Utah's Canyon lands.

Might be a bit too far for the lady so early in the year - she's not used to that kind of time in the saddle yet. We'll see though - she wanted to come out with me today and it was only 2*C (35*F). She enjoyed it despite getting a little cold.

Did you miss the "el" with your web site link, Bubba?

    http://www.elranchofandango.com/

They say the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have a problem.
I have not done an overnight motorcycle road trip in 4 years.
I was thinking 3, but the photos are dated April 2014.
The car trip to Arkansas a year and a half does not count, it was a car, duh.
MC day rides locally are fun, but not the same.
So, I have a problem. Called lack of MC road trips. :Ballchain:

This sounds like a good solution. Even if like all such solutions, it is only temporary.
Will have to see how it goes or does not go with work, but am going to try and make this happen.

Work is sort of like a popcorn machine.
It sits there doing nothing, maybe sizzles a bit.
Then finally starts popping on Friday afternoon.
Because it knows, I don't work weekends. :nelson:

I will start your jobs on Monday, dear client.:Yo:

To the point. Thinking Wednesday to Wednesday road trip, 8 days.
Around the end of June weekend. Let the work flow, um flow, in the meantime!
There is no June 31, btw. :D

"There is no June 31, btw"!

There is in the Utah born and breed Calendar!;-) In serious context I got lost on your reply. So it may be likely or not? ;-) I am just going down from Friday until Sunday and going home to Salt Lake on Monday. It may change if I have someone, or more that want to stay one more day. Just keep me updated and anyone else that can join.

If I say employed, my health is good , bike acts well and earlier notice! I may be able to get the accommodations earlier next year for a Memorial Day ride with a few more bungalows so up to 8-12 people could join in for a replacement of the Reggie Ride. Just a pipe dream but it would be cool to have a medium to large group riding around southern Utah next year.

I'm still hoping. Feeling more hopeful with more work starting to roll, but still have to wait a bit and see.
Thinking to leave home Wed 6/27, arrive Moab Fri 6/29, and depart again Mon 7/2 AM. Arrive home Wed 7/4.

Although this does not leave any no or minimal ride days, for a break. But, does not include and iron butt days either. Hmm.

This timing is not going to work for me.
I will spare you the excuses. Nothing dire, but sigh. :(

That sucks, I understand. I was just hoping to ride with a few on the site. Even if it was one or two. Like I have said I have only done 2 group distance rides in my life after owning a bike capable since 1997. So nothing new to me. Take care and ride safe. Thanks for the "let me know". There is always next year god willing! I would like to see if I can get the accommodations next year for Memorial Day weekend and post it early enough for those that may have interest to actually do it. I mean if the boss is going to let me have a good house in a great riding location for free for me and up to 8 that would be killer.

Hey Bubba... Phil checking in... I wanted to be starting my ride north from Tucson about now, but work craziness has me delayed. I have it planned to run up into the NW corner of NM, loop the Million Dollar Hwy in CO, probably touch Moab, then head south again. So, as luck might have it, it remains possible we could intersect in Moab at the end of June. I'll let you know if the dates work out...

Bubba - last check in... I'm not pulling it off for end of June. About the most I'll be able to get away for will be 3-day wknd within AZ. I'll look to do the longer AZ-NM-CO-UT trip in the Fall. Be safe, have yourself a good time....

I am thinking Lake Isabella area after going there (again) in the cage with the wife.
Cool twisty roads and not much traffic weekend before last.
