What do you guys use to keep the tank bag from scratching the tank and where do you get it?

    Thanks

My tank bag of 12+ years came with a neoprene/rubber type pad and nary a scratch on any bike it has adorned.

The mesh mats used in RVs to steady stuff is perfect and Dollar Tree usually have some ....put it between the tank and the bag

I have paint on my tank that the tank bag sits on, never been a problem. Keep the tank clean, don't get sand under it, and don't drag it
on and off. Not a big deal.

    Use a baglux system .
You can use a cloth under the magnetic flaps.

Removable shelf liner plastic film. Used to be called contact paper. Put it anywhere a tank bag or saddlebag may rub against the paint. Rain can't wash grit under it, and it peels off when you don't need it.

Thanks Nelix, But I have had my "Wolf" Tank bag made in Colorado since 2004- so 14yrs later and this bag is quality made and never has left a scratch. But that is due to washing the bike weekly. It used to be black, but now grey due to UV but is not showing any signs of wear to the material other than the plastic map cover. And who uses that anymore with our devices. Paid a good price back then at $105 but it was recommended and out lasted any other soft luggage I have ever bought or seen. I figure at least 1080 cases of bottled Utah brewed Squatter's Full Suspension Pale ale have been stuffed and tightly zipped up on that bag. My only regret was to have not bought the matching carbon fiber looking saddle bags at the time.

Try using a tail bag. It's out of site, out of mind and can carry more stuff. Also, doesn't limit range of motion in the twisties when you should be moving all over the tank.

This is the one I have and I love it. It was on the bike when I bought it, and I had full intentions on removing it. I'm really glad I decided to keep it on the bike. I don't ride my fifth gen vfr with out it.
It's a bags connection bag I think. That is what's written on the bag any way. It works just like the givi tanklock system that was posted earlier. It keeps the bag up and away from the paint, and locks in nicely. When I park the bike when I'm out riding I just un-clip it from the tank and carry it with me. It is surprising how much I can stuff in it. Lol
I'm ordering one for my fourth gen for sure.

Upon further Google research the bag is SW-MOTECH. Not bags connection. Sorry about that.
www.twistedthrottle.com sells them here in the USA.
