Looks like a real nice ride you're on .

So this suggestion is too late for your present adventure, however, assuming you'll do this again in the future, I would suggest one of these (or similar):

    https://www.amazon.com/DBPOWER-1800...r+jump+starter&refinements=p_89:DBPOWER&psc=1

I carry one now on road trips, in the car or on the bike. They will jump start a car, I know, I've done it (friends Honda Accord). They will charge your cell phone or GoPro, again, done it. They are not very large and pack well. And, you are riding a VFR ... so ... ;).

Great scenery. Bike looks dirty, which means you are using it the way it was meant to be used.
You can clean it when you get home. Thx 4 pix, ride safe. Wish I was there. ;)

Well, I am back home in Salt Lake and I cut the trip short on mileage due to high winds today in Utah up to 50mph with a system coming in. I ended up doing about 735 miles. o a trip recap!
    • Riding conditions where hot and could have been worse, but Ideal with Great roads and very low traffic on my route down to Moab, Torrey, highway 70, 24, 12!!!! On the way back home high winds and a lot of road snakes on Highway 6 that had my sphincter clinched a little too much with front and rear grabs in 2 corners and slowing down to 40mph and trying to pick lines to avoid as much as I could. UDOT (Utah Dept. of Transportation) that f..ks with motorcycles using cheap fixes are a bitch.
    • I bought the Sena 30k and it is very poor for my helmet a HJC IS Modular. Speakers are poor in my helmet and I could not use voice commands after 55-60mph. So $239 wasted unless I spend another $400 on a new helmet. Music failed using Pandora a lot with service(Verizon) and I cannot return due to ripping the speaker mounts to fit.
    • I bought the air hawk and some biking shorts that are padded, but both failed me miserably! Ass hurt after 40miles or more. So $145 wasted. I think that using one or both even cause me to be uncomfortable earlier in a ride than the stock seat with my 209 mile ride last year to Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
    • Did not think about having a touch screen on my bar mounted I phone. Son of a bitch! Stopped into the closest dealer that was open and it was a BMW shop. 15 mins later and another $100 I had G5 BMW gloves. I had bought a new set for $49 before the ride. Ended up giving them to a fire fighter I met in Moab that is a rider. G5 BMW gloves are great gloves though I would have like to gone cheaper and allow touchscreen to be used on.
    • My only regret on this ride was not meeting any of you. I will be more proactive next year to have a southern Utah Scenic ride with any of you. On the Fourth holiday tomorrow I will be cleaning her up and putting her to the side until my ass recovers.
    • Oh, one last thing. This is more technical. Has anyone ever had the 2014 bike rise to 232 Degrees? I was riding hard home and came into heavy rush hour traffic for 30mins. When I got to my door it was reading this and struggled with the fan working to come down? But with my history of overheating I was wondering if anyone in a spirted ride home at 90f and doing 15mph for about 20mins had the same result. I know I should check the radiator level. Thanks for any input.

Bubba glad you made it home safe.
    Hope the ass feels better.
Try these, I use them daily in my NeoTec.
Wally world $35-$40, great for music and gps.

If it's like my old 5th gen you'll know if it is too hot because the temp numbers will start to flash. If you are on air temp, the display will change to coolant temp. I think 232 is pretty close to that range, but RTFM.

You could try a BeadRider beaded seat. They're not very expensive as these things go, maybe 40 - 50 bucks. I like mine for long trips. You get some airflow for the nethers, and you can massage your ass by moving side to side (you may get funny looks though). Not very grippy for spirited riding, kind of the opposite, though not as bad as having used Armor All on your seat ... :D.

Bubba as I said before get a sheepskin for your seat. Have just completed a 2,500 mile week around the Scottish Highlands. My mate borrowed mine and wouldn’t give it back till he bought one on the second last day . Averaging 300 miles a day they are great cost us about £20 for one.
As for Sena I think you need to set speakers up properly. A few of the lads had them and had no problems hearing or talking at speeds or around 80 mph neotech and Schuberth c4. Or get a pair of in ear plugs ( with speakers in them) . Correct positioning makes all the difference. I still use an Autocom with wired speakers and the option of In ear.

I am looking into a Shubert C4. I went back to the stock seat. I wore those biking underwear and I think they put pressure points on me immediately so I threw those away!;-) As far as the airhawk pad I will sell it anyone for $30-40- I paid $105. Send me a picture of the sheepskin so I can see it. I am a little "Sheepish" about it being who I am!;-)

Pressure from underwear seams. Time in the saddle also makes a big difference.

Would also try the shoei neotec. Bear in mind a full face lid will always be quieter.
Will try n put up some pics later.

The pressure was not from the seams it was from the padding in the butt and crotch. Time in the saddle does matter of course. I am looking at keeping a modular that is the quietest. Thanks.

I appreciate the thought, but might not be right for my bike.
