    [IMG] source of music
Well I have a kind of knowledge on how the HD riders listen to music, as I can hear them too(from Loud speekers).
I want to know what source of music you use?
Do you listen from Cell phone via Sena?
is the sena Capable of being connected to Cell and GPS at the same time?
in California using double plug in the ear is ticket, so I donot use Ipod with wired earheadphones.
I want to know about your experience and ALso want to know how can we listen to live radio?is there athing such as Xm satellite radio for motorcycles with capability of Bluetooth?
    Thank you[IMG]

I use my Cardo Packtalk to attach to my phone via Bluetooth and use it for turn by turn directions. Being that the phone is now linked, I can also use it for phone calls, music playback and almost anything the phone has to offer. Essentially, being able to take a call without removing my helmet is a small benefit. Usually if I take a call I will pull over or let the person know that I'll call them back, when I can pull over and dial them safely. That is if I even answer the call.

I had a few times where the phone would pick up due to detecting my voice (in voice answer mode) and sometimes I might take a call if I am on my way to a client's and they are calling me. Many times this is to tell me the meeting has been cancelled, or rescheduled, so that is one reason I might answer. Otherwise I like to wait until I know I can have a conversation without compromising my safety. Dialing out is typically not an option, unless I am parked and have the ability to manipulate the phone without trying to steer the bike.

The Palktalk comm unit has the ability to pair with two Bluetooth devices, meaning I can have my phone and a second device, such as a radar detector or GPS. With their phone app, you can set priorities on which audio you hear. It also has an FM tuner, which I seldom use but if your XM Satellite tuner has a Bluetooth connection or even a headphone output, you can find Bluetooth transmitters that will use the headphone output as the signal to transmit.

That being said, the Palktalk is probably overkill if the above is all you want and not as a rider to rider comm system as well. The latter is actually where the Packtalk excels, being able to pair multiple riders together easily is one of its strong points. If rider to rider comms is not a must have, then there are plenty of other (less expensive too) options for you. Personally I'd stick with either Cardo, Sena or UClear but I'm sure there are other makers out there that might fit the bill.

The engine has always provided all the music I need on a ride.
Also, I wear earplugs in an effort to not go deaf from wind noise.

Sure, right now though my personal schedule has been really busy but perhaps even a face to face meeting. Even just to meet during the week for lunch or to say hello. Right now most of my September weekends are spoken for, at least up until the 22nd BUT if I can squeeze in a ride on one of those weekend days, maybe we can do a short ride somewhere.

I ride with earplugs too but the comm setup works well even with them in. If I’m riding in a group, I like to have the comms on, this way we can report what’s happening on the road ahead or with the riders in the group. I may have music going if I’m riding long distance, like to San Diego or to Central California. Sometimes road tunes makes the ride experience just a tad more fun. The right road with the right playlist enhances the ride IMO.

The comm is good for a group ride. I don't do those much and no longer have a comm.
I guess I am more restrained than xx years ago, but can't forget the ticket I blame on Deep Purples Highway Star.
OK, my fault, I put pedal to metal.

I use a Sena with earplugs. I can actually hear the Sena better (clearer) with the earplugs, music or voice. I guess it filters out the white noise? I listen to my music downloaded on my phone when there is no signal or Pandora or other online music service. I also like the FM tuner to listen for traffic reports when traveling through cities. Phone calls can be made by voice command and answered. Can be linked to others or intercom with a passenger, music and phone. I did about a 1000 miles with my brother-in-law last year was so nice to be able to talk about where to stop if we needed gas food or break for rest. Much better than hand signals. Plenty of options out there hope you find what works best for you.

I used to listen to live music via the radio or cassette on my rt1150.

Music on all of my bikes is via twat nav or I pod, via Autocom unit or direct through earplugs ( as in proper in ear speaker ear defenders). Radio is a no as I live in mountains so reception is no good.

Don’t have music on my phone ant it’s in my pocket. I can however make and recieve calls should I wish to.

UClear via Bluetooth, music provided by either streaming, or downloaded music on my phone. Can also take calls, listen to directions. Lasts a good 10+ hours, and I've had it for several years. UClear, not the phone.

Memorex digital am/fm radio on keychain. Push buttons with preset channels and wrap around headphones.
    It's easy to manipulate/change channels.

Nothing fancy here, 4th gen Ipod shuffle with oem earbuds. I have a few Bluetooth earbud headsets with microphones but haven't gotten around to testing them out while riding (lazy)…

Nice! I have a couple very similar in design to that one and one with a "neck brace". How is the background noise for the microphone? I was concerned because I think it droops down below helmet chin coverage and would be exposed to the wind?

On insert into my ears around the back of my neck.
Have answered the phone at 70 and if I yelled, yah they could hear me but don’t make a habit. Fueling or just standing still with the helmet on, you can talk and bothe ends, clear as a bell.
Like I said, cranked up it plenty loud to be rockin down the hiway

Use the built in Schuberth Bluetooth system which I think is made for them by Cardo. Works really well, get music/phone/nav etc

I'm on the Schuberth also. It is the best helmet/sound system I've used. I had uclear before that and just earbuds before that. With the Schuberth, I can listen to tunes and GPS from phone and take a call all hands free. At least up to 75 mph or so. the wind noise starts to get prohibitive above that. Usually people aren't sure I'm on the motorcycle.

Double that! I find music or handsfree, etc. only distracts you from the main thing you should be doing. 110% concentrating in riding.

Although I do find that wind noise blocks the sweet V4/Cam-gear 'noise' way too efficiently...

Maybe I should hook up a pair of mics on the cam cover and slip-on and have earphones amplify those sweet 'noises' :)

I bought a set of cheap Bluetooth headsets for the missus and I to use. With earplugs in I can still hear music through Spotify on my cell and I can take calls at 70+ MPH.

    For two it was $80.

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/222880221379

The only thing I did different was that I remove the mounting hardware on the back and got some heavy duty velcro to mount it on the helmet. Made it a bit lower profile and didn't need to be forced onto the helmet.

Being a luddite I stay away from bluetooth and all that newfangled technology. However I love music! In aggressive twisties I love to sing Abba's "Waterloo" in my helmet. On the straights I sing anything else I fancy. Seriously (although I do sing Abba) I get so much wind noise even with with ear plugs I'm wondering if I would even be able to hear piped music when riding. Maybe someone can chime in regarding whether you can hear the music clearly.
