Nike chose to use this POS as their poster boy. Really Nike, REALLY?! You just lost my respect and business for life (which sucks big time because I've been a repeat nike customer since the early 80's).

If we're talking about football and REALLY Sacrificing EVERYTHING, this is IMnshO a Real Hero (not like that whiney spoiled ISIS looking MoFo above). (Pat Tillman)

FWIW, most decent productive members of society deserve more than that jackass up top.

Squirrel is right, people are very confused about the WHY they kneel. But I do think they chose the wrong way to do it. Your only going to divide doing it the way they are and then spend all your time defending. That is not going to work.

Not sure who or how it was twisted but the protest about the treatment of African Americans in America sure got turned around and made it about the players disrespecting America instead of spot lighting what they were protesting about. It is a double edge sword, on the one hand, being a NFL player who has a higher profile than the average citizen certainly gives their cause a bigger spot light but doing it on the field might not be the best place to do it. I understand the players point of view, this is probably the biggest exposure one could get, a nationally televised event, what better time/place to make your statement. Problem is, Americans don’t want to see or hear about stuff like this when it’s time for football.

Here’s a good read on fans and sports as it relates to some of our interest:

Right back atcha. You might want to consider moving out of the 50's and 60's and catch up with current events. You know what group is probably the most discriminated against these days? Straight White Males.

WHY they kneel is VERY MUCH debatable. Does prejudice and discrimination still exist - sure. Is it as bad as some claim or keep perpetuating, IMO absolutely not. I'm not dividing, I'm responding to the dividing that others are doing and keep doing. For whatever reasons, certain groups have more freedom of speech and certain groups are allowed to get away with behavior, especially divisive speech and behavior, than other groups.

Great! racism and politics have made their way to the one place you used to be able to get away from it, nice work, asshole. Take your bullshit over to Faux News, plenty of folks over there you can circle jerk with.

As far as AA's are concerned, IMO (and for the record, I'm neither AA nor Caucasian) they have very little to complain about overall, especially since they have SO MANY successful people in all walks of life/professions - AND A PRESIDENT. AA's weren't the only ones who have been discriminated against or enslaved throughout history or even US history. IMO, the people that got fuc&ed the worst overall here in the US are probably Native Americans. IMO, if/when "your people" can get someone INTO THE OVAL OFFICE - you've really got no reason to keep crying about X "keeping you down".

I'm not sure your point with the fan/sports/motorcycle article.

I'm sorry, I refuse to read Washington Post articles.

As far as Pat Tillman, I've read that his family doesn't want him to to be brought in or related somehow into this topic/discussion and some have said that Pat himself would have knelt too. Regardless, my point is that here is a guy who walked away from a multi-million dollar contract (to PLAY A GAME btw) and joined the fuc&ing MILITARY to serve his country because that's how strongly he felt and tragically, he ended up dying for his beliefs. THAT, boys and girls, IS BELIEVING IN SOMETHING AND SACRIFICING EVERYTHING. What did kapass do and sacrifice? Not much of either. He knelt and quit playing a game when he was about to get sacked. He declined an opportunity to play for John Elway so he could keep playing the victim. He's still getting paid millions. Too many people in this country have been looking up to all the wrong people for way too long and now nike just jumped in and made it worse.

Hey shit for brains, if something comes on the TV that you don't like, there's this thing called a remote that you can change the channel with. Likewise, on this website, there's this thing called IGNORE. Here, lemme show you how to use it... ::CLICK:: Ahhhh, much better...

OK, I'll admit, ISIS looking MoFo was probably a little much. I apologize to all you good standing ISIS members.

Hate? I'm not sure if I "hate" kapass or nike but I sure don't like either of them much.

Mods if you want to shut this down, please go ahead. I'm pretty sure none of us on either side of the issue is going to change his/her mind, especially those who simply believe everything they see/hear/read in the liberal media. Divide and conquer right? Let's keep the middle and lower classes fighting among themselves so they don't see or pay attention to all the BS we're doing up here...

Keep on waiting. I'm never going to apologize for how I feel about ISIS or kapass or nike... BUT, you're right, relating ISIS with kapass was a stretch - IMO, they're both unAmerican...

It was in reference to football fans and my point that they don't want politics mixed with their sport. The article was about how fans can be...fanatical and damned be those who provide the entertainment if they don't follow through with it.

Fair enough, just putting that there as others may like to read it, particularly since Tillman's name and likeness was used in your post.

The problem with the protest from my point of view is that he (and others) choose to do it in uniform. While in uniform, your actions and words represent the team, the employer, and the organization. None of those are political organizations who wished to be associated with a devisive topic.

He can say whatever he wants on his own time or while associated with another organization who shares his views. Apparently Nike is one.
