quite fancy some of the smaller bikes like the '48' or the Sportster at least they 'look' like a bike I think a lot of modern 'nakeds' are as ugly as a hat full of arseholes,imho at least

I have never seen a piece of Hardley clothing made in the US. I wonder if any is made here.

I saw this last week. Unfortunately, high dollar toys aren’t in as demand anymore, unless you’re ultra rich!

 

So all of the Dainese apparel you buy is made in the US? Nope. Alpinestars?, Nope, Arai?, Nope, Shoei?, Nope. Practicing what we preach is a lost art.

 

I never said I buy things just because they are made in America. This was referring to the HD fan boys who do because HD is an American company and that's why they buy it. Hell most of Dainese stuff isn't even made in Italy but I'm not buying it because it's an Italian company and I want Italian made items, I buy it because I like the products. Same goes for Shoei, Schuberh, Knox or whatever brand I like and buy. So whatever dude.

 

A lot of the above is true I agree. I also believe the Baby Boomer and X-Gen Pre-Financial Crash fueled H-D buying really bloated H-D's sales and their production. There was a period where a used H-D with upgrades cost as much as a NEW H-D! Who came up with that dumb trend? The Baby Boomer/X-Gen folks mortgaging their homes and/or getting rich from the real estate bubble, that's who. H-D was selling just about every bike they made. This was the decade of "Orange County Chopper" buyers! 10 years later many of these same folks are burned out, retired, and no longer riding/buying bikes.

Another thing that H-D failed to address AND act on was 90% of their bikes were geared towards the aging population who had money to spare. They had ONE bike model under $10k. Now they have 3 bike models under $8k. 2 of them are made in India. And all three of these entry level models can't hold a candle to less expensive SV650 or FZ07! Why would a millennial buy a H-D? Most millennials are NOT die-hard buy American fanboys and girls. And most of them want value AND performance. They sure won't get that from ANY H-D! The Gen-X'ers who are still riding AND have money to spend are buying Adventure bikes and naked sportbikes (two of the hottest selling segments). Hence the dismal sales of the 8th Gen VFR800 and Ducati Supersport. H-D hates sportbikes. They hated Buell, ironically the only brand they owned that could come close to the Japanese and Europeans when it came to performance AND value/performance ratio. And the first chance they got they divested the brand and cut its balls off so they could not sell anything. Talk about helping Americans!

H-D only has themselves to blame. And now they're going to try to convince the buying public that a H-D Adventure bike is awesome! LOL! All 600 lbs. of it. They don't seem to want to realize that their competition from KTM, BMW, the Japanese, already have this market cornered and are fiercely competitive. These stalwart ADV bikes will eat that H-D ADV bike for breakfast. H-D who have no idea how to go off road and what makes machines work off road will compete against the Paris-Dakar / Baja Racing veteran manufacturers! LOL!

While I do like the H-D Iron 883 and the Sportster 1200 Cafe models, when I start comparing their bikes to the competition, it just doesn't make any sense to me. I'd rather get an SV650 or a Z900 naked bike! H-D really needs to compare their models to other manufacturers. Maybe they'll realize how far behind the performance curve they have fallen. Because the last time they could compete on performance was the 1970's.
