Who decides what is "legit" and what is actually "real", as opposed to something that is perceived or rumored? Common sense isn't always common. Truth isn't always self-evident. Real Understanding is sometimes a paradigm shift away - and if the paradigm shift doesn't happen, then it's just a false understanding.

LOL, I think you'd probably be out of business pretty quick if you're not regulating company personnel's on duty behavior.

Is there paradigm shift in race inequality? police brutality?
Real understanding come from individual seeking and learning answers, not ignoring the issues above and go on living as they don't exist.

The reason that common sense is not so common is because we fail at primary education.
Kids are not taught manners at home, teachers have 20-30 kids in their classroom; they can't teach manners to the kids along with all the classroom subjects.

Racist and/or sexist jokes are significantly different than silent protest.
To Learn more about 1st Admenment

If employees express in public racist and/or sexist joke in public on company time; I think it's pretty obvious what would happen when employer finds out with evidence.

I volunteered, not for thanks; because liberty & justice for all, not just citizens, that's what America is about.

I missed that part, too. I was in the other room grabbing a beer. I heard the announcers saying something about it, but do not recall specifics. Game was pretty boring, though.

Yeah it looked at times like a pre season game. Started so late too because of the storms. The Eagles left tackle is a beast!

You're welcome, but no need to thank. They paid me so it's not so much 'service' as it was just doing my job. :)

IMnshO, there definitely CAN be a paradigm shift if race inequality isn't as "unequal" as some claim. Absolutely CAN be a paradigm shift regarding police brutality because a LOT of what is alleged to be "police brutality" really isn't. A LOT (dare I say the vast majority) of "police brutality" incidents or events have actually been Reasonable uses of force (but since most people aren't familiar with LE work or policy/procedures or some are too often simply alleging PB for EVERY situation that involves one of "their people"...…..) "real understanding" can also come from being a subject matter expert in a particular field or topic (regardless if others THINK I/you are "ignoring the issues" or "living as they don't exist")

Common sense is dependent on a host of factors and simply living and experiencing life is one of them. I definitely agree with pisspoor parenting being a major cause of people Not being polite or considerate or Not following the Golden Rule.

I think we agree that not everything is covered by FOS.

I wasn't thanking you because I felt you were asking for it. I thanked you because I appreciate your service. Many of my coworkers and some of my best partners have been former US military. Even though we don't do our jobs for thanks or recognition, it still is nice when we are occasionally reminded that there are people out there who really do appreciate our service.

I think every sport has that possibility (being boring).

Football is definitely one of the tougher sports out there:

Off the top of my head, on the rare occasions that I'm actually watching TV, I think the only two sports that I've stopped channel surfing for in recent times are MMA and hockey and maybe some of the (legitimate) events in the Olympics...

That would give away to much about me if I answered either. Maybe even more so If I would chime in with my opinions on the main topic. Some topics I will not engage in that are way to sensitive and personal per the outcome. Those are my beer and my food!:Peace::drink1:

Kind of how I felt about it too. Makes me uncomfortable to be thanked and singled out for it. Fortunately, I wasn’t one who sacrificed my life or health while doing the job. Then I might feel differently.

Majority don't realize there are lots of immigrants in the armed forces, often times assigned to duties that regular recruits are not willing to perform in order to be placed for citizenship path. I was one of those, I survived with all my limbs and digits, but many in my unit did not, some lost lives without recognition, no where near full benefit of a regular soldier or officer.

Performing my duty was exactly what I did when I was young and fed with ideals and false info that it was the only path to become citizen. I believed in "Liberty and Justice for All." until 15 years ago I started to work in public schools, library and homeless shelters, seen and experience first hand what our country, law enforcement and even businesses disenfranchise the poor, certain race and homeless veterans.

If anyone is interested, check the 2007 flick Lions for Lamb.
Get some perspective how our country is sending some of our best in warzones to die instead of improving our society domestically.
