Picked up a very nice 5th gen this morning. Pretty loaded, sargent seat, elka shock, heli-bars, staintune high mount, power commander, GSXR mirrors, Euro tank, cover, extras etc.

No rash, but it needs rubber....

The bad thing is that I found and bought it for a buddy so I just get to watch it pass me....:(

But I do get a new riding partner out of the deal and we have a new member to the VFR community. Now he did have to make sacrifices so this could happen. His prized 1990 RZ350 Yamaha has to go in order to balance the scales...

IMG_1704.JPG Thats a nice bike you found Jethro. Now the fun starts with your friend. Talk him into keeping the RZ350 though. Its likely worth more then the VFR. I get offers for my '81 RD350LC every time i take it out

It looks like the RZ is probably sold for a cool 5K...so yes its worth more but it isn't a VFR.

So I opened up the beats to see what's what and found the typical lack of maintenance one would expect. Dirty filter, sticky throttle linkage, dirty throttle bodies etc. Also some indication that it has seem an impact at some point as the left hand radiator appears to be tweaked a tad. Maintenance? What? You don’t just fill them with gas and go?

That air filter is gross. Alas! A reminder for me to check mine sometime today.

A stunning example of the breed. I'd love to have one of these in my garage.

Another classic and a very nice example. Given the choice I'd always take the pre-YPVS LC. The stunning lines are beyond compare, the YPVS model is a carbuncle of styling in comparison. Regardless, I have no doubt that bike puts a smile on your face whenever you ride it.

Well, she's all sorted out, cleaned up and we are off to the dealer for safety inspection! IMG_2408.JPG IMG_2412.JPG IMG_2409.JPG
