    Congratulations to Rea
4th WSBK CHAMPIONSHIP IN A ROW.
There was no way in hell he was going to let Davies win that second race

Rea has been unbeatable ever since he got off the CBR and on the Kawi. I wonder if he has a record braking 1 more in the tank.

Congrats to Marquez for winning the Thailand GP on the last lap - his 7th win of the season and the 8th win for Honda! Marquez now has a nearly insurmountable lead of 77 points with just 4 races to go - they might as well sign, seal, and deliver the championship certificate and trophy to him now - sorry Ducati :D

The guy who used to upload the full races to YT has apparently been banned due to "multiple third party copyright complaints" - LOL. So here's a vid of just some of the highlights:

Really was cheering for Dovi, over and under at just the right time for MM. To bad VR lost traction out of that right turn and losing all of that momentum. And JL, never saw his crash in practice but was that bike in two pieces?
    Next year should be epic.

That race weekend was filled with some record setting/breaking events. The fact that Ana Carrasco won by 1 point just goes to show you anything can happen and don't ever give up! Not sure if her winning will entice more females to get into racing but even if it generates more interest in racing, I think that's a good thing.

It's a bummer for us here in the US that motorcycle racing seems to take such a back seat to NASCAR and other motorsport events and crazy how many Spanish and Italian riders populate the grid, even Britain has quite a few riders on both MotoGP and WSBK grids at the moment. Funny though, at the after race press conference of the Thailand race, they compared Dovi and MM to Rainey and Schwantz and asked them who they though they were in this comparison, both seemed to agree that Dovi was Rainey and MM was Schwantz!

As far a Rae goes, he's definitely raising the bar for those who will follow after him but he's winning so easily, it's almost surreal. The inverted starting grid for race 2, from what I understand, was to help limit the "runaway" win streaks of the top riders, yet this has not slowed Rae's progress! At least in MotoGP, there are a few riders who seem to be able to win and not very easily based on the last few races, they have to really fight for it. As much as I like to see the records being set and broken by Rae, it would really be a more interesting race series if more riders were able to get to the top step! Or at the very least make Rae really fight for it.

Well, with a moniker like Duccmann, I can see why you would cheer for Dovi! ;) I was actually impressed with the Yamaha team, they certainly were a 180 from where they were in the past few races and watching MV squirm wildly around the track, you knew he was eager to put what they found this weekend to use! I think he was just a tad better at managing the tires than VR. I think VR's eagerness to get out in front and try to win or get a place on the podium early on was his demise.

The post race conference was interesting to hear too. When MM dropped a couple of spots, the commentators had kind of made mention that he was probably "measuring up" Dovi and VR and/or conserving his tires for a last minute push. When they talked to Dovi about it at the conference, why he felt MM got the better of him, he mentioned that he didn't know what MM's strengths or weaknesses were. Conversely, MM stated the opposite, he knew where he was stronger and where Dovi would be most vulnerable, as he was behind him watching where it could be the most advantageous for him. He has become quite the clever rider, less compulsive and more strategic. It's no wonder he's leading the championship and on his way to a 7th World Championship title. Although the Ducati's have not made it easy for him this year and I kind of wish JL was staying on the Ducati for one more year, it seems that he's been on fire lately and would probably be a good contender next year. Who knows if he'll have similar learning curve on the Honda as he did on the Ducati but we'll see what happens next year.

One thing that MV did point out, even though they were able to find something this weekend, he feels the unknowns are still there. They really don't know if it was the track, the tire, the weather, the settings or what it was that gave them a better bike this weekend. So they are not counting their chickens before they're hatched just yet.

Yes, strange for Yamaha to all of a sudden find 1 second a lap.
My thinking is the track surface is very different to all other tracks, as they've had to design a new tyre for it and advised everyone to only use the hard.
It was good to see them join the fight, and makes for better racing.

Good MotoGP race again, next year looks very interesting

As for Rea, Freddie Spencer writing in MCN made another insightful comparison between Kawasaki and everyone else

Kawasaki start with a good base setting and do minimal adjustment, so Rea knows exactly what the bike can do ....without doing a MM and crashing on every corner to find the limit

We have Freddie as a commentator for WSB his softly spoken observations are a complete contrast to Keith Heuwen who covers MotoGP like its horse racing on the radio, continually shouting garbage

I'm not sure either........ The old races with 2 in one day was at times very demanding on racers. The extra race is going to be a shorter "sprint race". Might be really cool, kind of like qualifying but a real race. Going to be interesting.

We use the 3 race format in BSB in the last few meetings, it works very well

Speaking of BSB we had Assen TT circuit which provided some superb racing

    Race 1

Race 2, major incident involving Tommy Bridewell/Dan Linfoot and another involving the luckiest man at Assen Taz Mckenzie

The Tommy Bridewell and Dan Linfoot accident in more detail

Although both riders were knocked about neither suffered injury when the Ducati of Bridewell ended up jammed between the seat and tyre/swingarm of Linfoots Honda

Well, caught both WSBK races this weekend. More of the same, I’m starting to feel how my wife feels, let someone else win already! Lol The bar is going higher though, going to be tougher for those who are up and coming. Maybe that added race on Sunday will be something that’s needed.

Haslam finally won the BSB championship on Saturday at Brands Hatch GP circuit, taking it gently in a dry race he held a steady 6th place and just keeping Jake Dixon 2 places in front, finishing 5th Leon won by 1 point with 2 more races on Sunday, Glenn Irwin and his brother Andy led for several laps on the Panigales of PBM, with Glenn taking the race win

Wet races on Sunday lots of offs, Dixon had a particularly dramatic one with the bike clearing the air fence and hitting the catch fence high up, Haslam was out to finally win a race at the circuit and despite some big slides finally did it

Cool. Good to see Leon winning, after he left WSBK I knew he where he went but lost track of how he was getting along. I believe he’s going to be taking Sykes spot next year in WSBK, if I read the press release right.

The bike clearing the air fence sounds crazy. There was a crash in Moto America race a few races back where a bike flew through the air flipping over and over for what looked like at least 100 yards. This one was definitely wild to see.

Wow! That was terrifying. I have run that track a lot. That is by far the worst crash I have seen there.

Makes you realise what 200+ bhp and 180 kgs can do, incidents like that and several over the last 2 years at Brands Hatch underline just how under protected areas are .... I sure hope this sorted, what ever the cost, really soon ...reminds me of the Mercedes slaughtering 80+ spectators in the 50's

During the BSB meeting last weekend Ducati took the chance to show off the bike that's going stop Jonathan Rea winning 5 in a row .... Behold the V4 Panigale

So your saying the way Ducati is going to beat the Kawai is to take Johnny off the Kawi and put him on the new Duc? lol

No, Chas Davies and Melandri will do that, the Kawasaki is not actually that good, Rea has said several times through the latter part of the season that it's not the best bike out there, a fact hidden by his consistency and he's signed for them so unless they can change it the V4 Panigale is the best bike for next year ...to date
