Let's see. I'm 66. Started riding when I was 48. Currently on my second VFR, (1st one, '02 w 82000km, caught fire for no apparent reason in July). Bought another, '08 w 42500km, in Aug and have since put 6000km on it as well as another 2000km on the Ducati M900. Figure I will ride for a few more years.

Sounds like an old guy conversation , hope I'm old enough. I'm 62 years old, have 2 vfrs ....a 1995 with 321,000 kms and a 2005 with 144,000 kms. Owned both since new .I would have more mileage but my wife bought me a 2012 Suzuki V strom for a trip to Alaska .That one has 95,000 kms.

What, exactly, is an "Older Guy"? What is a "Younger Guy?". I know millennials that are dysfunctional in doing anything and 70+ year olds that can do about anything they want. I'm confused.

I'm 61 and started riding at age 31. I've only just bought myself a VFR a month ago so hopefully old guys can ride VFRs. ;) I intend on riding it for many more years. My other bike is a NT650 that I've had since 1992.

Of course you are. Targeting specific groups with blanket statements definitely proves it. This doesn't have anything to do with your apparent distaste for younger people. It is about embracing two wheels no matter how many days you've been a guest on this planet.

The judgmental cynic comments again. Tell us about your last VFR ride. Oh, that's right you just troll here and don't have a VFR.

That is some serious riding taking place my friend. I can't compare with that one I don't think. I bought my first oVFR in 06 new and in the crate and I think is has somewhere around 220,ooo km in it after my most recent ride to the Baja. I am now looking to get a new, f possible, 8th gen at 63 years of age, although acting like a teenager.

You are right about one thing, amazingly, I don't have a VFR, it's an RVF.

I'm 50 and still have my 97 VFR. Have/had several other bikes but always keep coming back to it. Both my boys ride and know its the only thing they need to ask first before even taking it out of the garage.

Dear Lord, I had no idea I was such a baby... I'm just a bit above 40, and have ridden VF's (and ST's) for about 23 years. Keep up the good work, (slightly) older guys (and gals)!

    Im 53 been riding since i was 14 , dirt , street , scooters ( vespa & lambretta )
My last collection before my introduction to the vfr 800 was 1980 vespa p200e , 2000 honda cbr1100xx , honda cbr 600f4i , and i enjoyed each one both as a solo rider and riding with my wife, ive taken all MSF classes , on the hondas and also been an motorcycle training instructor here in the US and the UK age is no obstacle to riding , my present 08 vfr is my 2nd as my 1st was a UK version that i both instructed with and enjoyed many advanced classes with including moto gymkhana , and achieving a ROSPA bronze award for safe riding , i still have and always will have this bug to ride till i can't no longer.

56 here, currently riding '09 VFR bought new, now has 27,000 miles. Started riding in 1970 on a wonderful Honda 50.
Then a Honda CT70, several bikes over the years, also liked riding the '71 Honda CB 750. I like the dirt & pavement equally.
I consider myself a "street riding professional" as I had a tagged Honda 50 & 70 growing up & learned all facets of traffic situations early on.
Yea, I'll say it with conviction: "Never been down and never will".
