Ducati and Aprilia are not really playing fair. It's not because their engines are V4's, it's because their engines are bigger. Ducati at 1200 and Aprilia at 1100. All the Japanese engines are in the 1000cc!

Don't wait for it. Just get the CBR1000rr. If you MUST have a "V4 Sound", get the Yamaha R1. Don't waste time waiting. Enjoy life now while you still can.

The displacement is necessary to maintain the performance as road going machines, are getting choked off by Euro emissions. Without the emissions, they wouldn't bother with the extra displacement.

Well by 2040 the Euro zone don't want gas powered vehicles running around in the cities.

I’ve got plenty of bikes, including an Interceptor 1000. I’m just not interested in the stuff Honda offers nowadays. I sat on the CBR1000RR SP. Too small for my likings. I sat on the Ducati V4. It fits me a whole lot better. I don’t want to “pay” for a Ducati. Honda’s are gas-n-go ... I like that. But I won’t buy just to buy. Build what I want. Then I’ll buy...

Is that the best you can do? Why don't you get a VFR if you're going to be here?

That's all the effort you're worth, Maxwell. It doesn't take much to spin you out. :Heh:

I can see both points of view here. To those who love the V4, a FireBlade simply isn't the same. I have both and while my 'Blade (actually now modified as a naked roadster) is extremely exciting to ride, you can't beat the feel of a V4 and I can quite understand anyone wanting to wait and see what Honda do. And then getting frustrated because despite the V4 talk, they seem to be doing nothing.

I can also completely understand why Ducati and Aprilia make larger capacity versions for the road. If they come in at the same size and weight as if they were 1000s (which I think they both do) then it makes sense as you can keep decent performance and even provide a greater spread of torque, making them better road bikes. But...

I don't see Honda doing that. If they do produce a new RVF, it will probably have a basic model plus a homologation special SP version (as they currently do with the 'Blade). I cannot see them making the regular version with a larger capacity as Ducati and Aprilia have done. Would be nice if they did, but I doubt they will.

    From "the other forum"....

"Traded the VFR in today, time for a change.

Best wishes to all, safe and happy riding."

    Key words: "HAD a VFR"

For God's sake can you please do the same thing here? A lot of people there were very happy to hear you left. I know most of them there and was there long before you polluted it.

Hush now Kermit. There is no prerequisite to owning a VFR to be a member.
As Gandalf said in Lord of the Rings, "Kermit, YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE."

Still here little green frog. Are you senile now, or just embarrassed?

Here is what you posted in another thread. "Hanging on to what native language I speak is weak. For the record it's American."

So once again, which native American language do you speak?
You type in bullshit, that much is clear.

Can we stay on topic and take the personal stuff offline or to an Off Topic forum? It's fun to discuss bikes Honda won't build. LOL!

I guess if you MUST have a 4-cylinder Honda in a V configuration, so be it. You wait and wait and hope...

But if you wan to live an exciting life now, a liter class Honda inline-4 engine is a wonderful thing to have.

Agree. A lot of people want a liter, V4 but either don't or can't use the power of the current 8th gen. The current V4, 800cc VFR can be a handful for anyone competent on a track or in mountain twisties. I don't know why anyone would ride a VFR on flat land with no challenging curves unless it would be to get to twisties. That is just an opinion. Everyone has one. No slams, disagreeing or nasty sarcastic remarks and replies necessary. Thank you and have a nice day.
