Hey everyone - just signed up for the forum today.

I bought a 6th gen VFR800 over the winter and while I really liked the bike - I realized it was a bit tired. Decided to test drive an 8th gen at a local dealer and fell in love with it right away. One of the best bikes I have ever ridden and the perfect all arounder for me. Traded up and here we are.

Here's the old bike (I kept the luggage and brackets and am looking to sell them if anyone is interested!)

And here's the 2014 that replaced it

I think I'll keep it mostly stock, but may toss on a slip on pipe if a used one pops up for sale.

Looking forward to being a part of the community!

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse

It is about time we had a few more active East Coast participants on the forum - OK the west coast riders enjoy summer all year long which may explain it but it is great to have you aboard.

Congratulations on posting up photos of your VFRs - I must say I too am contemplating moving on to an 8th Gen - they seem pretty much bullet-proof - so I hope you have fun with your new steed.

That factory luggage set is nowadays pretty much "unobtanium". Meantime there are still thousands of 6th Gens out there, so you may get a heap of interest simply by also listing them on the "for sale" section of the forum.

I must admit I had to look up where Worcester MA was - wow you are almost in Canukistan, and I guess the winter months can be a bit harsh - but if that smart looking Elise is also yours, then I am sure you may still enjoy trips out even in mid winter.

    Take care - ATGATT

Nice 8th gen. I gotta get a ride on one of those. But you taunt us with the photo of that orange beauty sitting next to it. How about a full photo and tell us about it? :)

Sure thing! The orange car is a 2006 Lotus Elise. Mostly stock, but it has better brakes, lighter wheels, autocross tires, and an exhaust on it. A little over 1900lbs and close to 200hp. It's not terribly fast in a straight line but handles better than anything I've ever owned. Loads of fun to drive. They're stopped depreciating and have started to creep up in value so it's a great time to buy one. They are a little hard to find up here so I ended up buying mine from Florida. I've had it for about 2 years now. The Lexus CT is my daily. It's a glorified Prius that takes care of the commute to work and back. It's boring, but gets 45mpg and is comfortable, practical, reliable, and used ones are dirt cheap.

I'm admittedly more of a car guy than a bike guy so on a nice day - the Elise usually wins out. Here's a few more shots:
