Have read many places that fully synthetic oil isn’t good for VFR’s.
Many have solved the problem just by replacing the oil and driving for a few hundred miles

    Edit:
    Quick search

    Oil before: Motul 7100 10w40

Oil now: Sunoco 4T GT Sport 10w-40

But the article also first says it can be caused by adding too much oil, so one should start by checking their oil level 3 or 4 minutes after shut down, and make sure the bike is perfectly level.
That said, if you use the oil that is recommended in the Owners Manual (at the proper amount), it will not cause clutch slippage.

Serviced the workhorse. Plugs, oil and air filter. Also rebuilding the brakes after a good long soak in the sonic cleaner.

After being on my third VFR using synthetic along with other 'cycles with zero clutch problems and running them hard, I completely disagree. All you have to do is listen to the engine with synthetic after using Dino and one can hear why. Something is wrong with the clutch, not the oil, engine, transmission, etc.

Wiped off the dried Honda Cleaner and Polish last night. Stuff works great in preserving paint and making the machine clean and shiny. Honda makes good polish and chain lube.

That looks pretty decent. Mine are looking really sorry right now. I am getting the plastics painted again over the winter so should paint the forks too I suppose. What did you do to clean and prep before painting?

Gave my windscreen some plastidip treatment. Four coats later and it turned out better than I expected.

I just cleaned them off with some brake cleaner, sanded them with 320grit, then cleaned them again with brake cleaner.
Then air dry, prime with rust inhibiting primer (don't know if this would do anything against oxidation but it's still primered), and gave a few coats of cheap wheel paint I sprayed my 8 spoker with. Then gave it about 3-4 coats of clear.
I only used acrylic spraypaint (also acrylic clear) and it was done in about 3-4 hours from start to finish.

Wanted to put on new pads in the front.
That pin bolt is a PITA to get out.. I’m drilling it out tomorrow. Any alternatives to buying oem?
Perhaps from some other models? With a hex instead?

Also felt a bit of play in the forks. It’s definitely coming from the forks.. Perhaps that’s why the right keeps leaking. Already bought a refurb kit...

I think what you're dealing with is the grub screw. These are short set pin style plugs that prevent the actual pin from backing out. The actual pin has a hex head. If you're careful, you can probably drill out the grub screw and not affect the threads. If you have them at your disposal, a left handed drill bit my do the trick without even drilling material out of the grub screw. Not that saving it is a goal, just makes it easier to extract without risk of damaging the threads..

Yes I think it’s called plug pin bolt.

Found that some from the newer CB’s and CBR’s have the hex instead.. But is it the same size?

According to Probolt, the grub screw is a 10mm screw but doesn’t say the thread pitch. Honda uses Nissan calipers on a lot of their bikes so it’s possible the CBR has the same grub screw, particularly if it’s a Nissan caliper.

Just finished cleaning the brakes and lubing them again..
I have that low speed brake scream...

Sanded the pads and sprayed them with brake cleaner, also cleaned the discs..

Also bent the spring clip, to give it a little more hold of the pads..

    Update: still screams

I found out the hard way that my low fuel light doesn't work and there is still quite a bit of gas left in the tank when you run out. ;)

Fortunately I didn't get very far from home.

I dashed home to put some gas in the tank but the bike still would not run. I will have to do some troubleshooting tonight. I hope I didn't burn out my fuel pump by running it dry.

I don't know if this is even possible but it appears that running dry did indeed take out my fuel pump and probably the relay also. I bypassed the relay because the fuel pump wasn't even coming on. It did come on after bypassing but really loud and getting very hot. Also does not appear to actually be pumping any gas.
