Well, my friend, you may as well stop now as you are making more dyno'd hp than anyone that has ever posted. A Dutch guy with a similar setup as you, but with a dyno tuned PCIII made 105 hp. Another fellow, Tinyminds, included a '99 catless header system (no cat, larger diameter header tubes) and got 109 hp.
    Stats below.
    Before:
2004 Honda VFR800 (Staintune Exhaust, K&N Air Filter, Power Commander 3 Running Cozye's PCIII Map )

    After:
2004 Honda VFR800 (Catless 99 Headers, Staintune Exhaust, K&N Air Filter, Power Commander 3, Dynotuned PCIII Map)

    Before ------ After

    @ 20% Throttle Opening
    HP: 23.6 ----- 32.8
    TQ: 31.8 ----- 36.3

    @ 40% Throttle Opening
    HP: 47.9 ----- 64.6
    TQ: 45.2 ----- 47.1

    @ 60% Throttle Opening
    HP: 78.3 ----- 87.6
    TQ: 51.2 ----- 53.3

    @ 80% Throttle Opening
    HP: 94.8 ----- 100.3
    TQ: 54.6 ----- 56.1

    @ 100% Throttle Opening
    HP: 101.2 ----- 109.3
    TQ: 57.7 ----- 59.2

If you're truly making 113 dyno'd hp at the rear wheel, we'd like to see the dyno chart!

Where did you read that? That is most likely SAE net at the crankshaft as measured by the factory. A chassis dyno reading rear wheel hp will always be less than that, but reflects real world usable power to the pavement (frictional losses due to transmission oil heating, final drive slippage, and less-than-perfect tire adhesion). Figure 108 SAE hp at the crank equals roughly 98 hp at the wheels (very roughly).
Whoever told you your bike gained 5 hp needs to show some proof to that claim in the form of dyno charts taken over multiple runs at similar conditions before and after modifications. Otherwise, the 5 hp gain is mere speculation (or wishful thinking).

I just had a single dyno and it does say 113Hp @ 10900 RPM so if that is the case and you say 98 Hp is the rough number than that's around a 15Hp gain. It also says torque is around 62. I can send you a scan of the print out if you want to check it out. Just let me know.

I was thinking about a power comander not for top end power gain but to smooth out lower rpm throttle responce . Maybe to get rid of the on off bit around 4000 rpm . It realy is not a problem just woundering what others have found.

I would really like to see the chart. That is a world-beater dyno run, if it reflects rear-wheel hp on a chassis dyno. Nobody has ever posted a 15 hp gain from the mods you have. If the 113 hp IS at rear wheel, then your engine is making over 125hp at the crank, which is in the 900 - 1000cc category.

If you want to smooth that out, go to Radio Shack, buy some 330 ohm resistors, and do the o2 sensor mod. Works like a charm.
I don't know if there is a write up on here for it, but if not go to vfrd and do a search for it.

If you had 120 hp, what difference would it make? It's the rider, every single time except in straight line boredom. I've seen everything from Kawi 250's to Yellow Wolf on a Goldwing out-run everything and anything on The Dragon time and time again. It's the rider, every single time.

Don't mind Get Smart, he prefers the straw man reply over providing an actual answer to any technical question. Yes, you can expect to see a gain with a properly tuned power commander. The amount of gain will vary from moto to moto depending on the tuners experience and knowledge, components, condition of the engine, yada, yada. You are not going to magically see a 5hp increase from a PC dyno tune, but you will be able to smooth out the VTEC tansition and clean things up across the board. You will not realize the full potential of the pipe, unless you tune it.

I would do a couple pulls on the dyno with a stock air filter and the K&N. My experience is the K&N is garbage. As no pics were provided of exactly what you did to your airbox, it's hard to say whether that is helping or hurting your output. 5hp for a pipe is right in the range of what you might expect. If you want 120 hp, you are going to have to get the heads done. There is no other way.

The forum stalking troll and feckless bitch who doesn't even own a VFR comes out from under the bridge. You have no applicable experience. Just a couch rider.
