As a side note - I'd be shot if I did this inside my house ... & my wife is REALLY accommodating to me - lol.

ITS NOW RUNNING PERFECTLY !! - ISH

I haven't yet done a road test but start up went very well.

The fuel tank with 'newish' fuel tap has been in my kitchen for the last week (so the SO can tell me if it leaks - it doesn't) so connected up a aux fuel tank to the bike.
I suspected the carbs also had a sticking float - no 3 cylinder as it was full of fuel ! so tapped the base of the carb with a long alloy rod.

Then put the key in, full choke, press the button - PERFECT. No hiccups, no fuel spillages, just started on the button.

Also the front brakes needed bleeding after full recon & new lines - thanks Ron..

Time to put together & quick test ride.. - next weekend - may even try for an MOT.

    Really great news, Pete!

Carbs are always kind of a pain as they require a lot meticulous attention to detail, as such, they are labor intensive initially, but it seems that once you get them adjusted and leak free, they don't seem to give you anymore problems. It would be nice if somebody made some repro diaphragms for those specific carbs, just for peace of mind.

Stoked the brake lines worked out for you. I'm glad they didn't just end up sitting in a cabinet unused, and I couldn't think of a better place for them to go.

    Blue & White.png Triplets.png Almost final update..

Just completed the first test ride - about 2 miles.

    Bike starts fine.
    The carbs no longer leak..
    Fuel tank no longer leaks.
You guys have no idea how much time on these carbs has been spent !
The brakes work - need bedding in - but do stop fine.

The bike now starts perfectly but Damm it really needs a run.

The carbs need checking / synching (this has been done "!") but it feels very 'boggy' below 3000.
It got better as it was 'worked' but needs a couple of runs just to get the quirks sorted.

Handling wise was excellent - it showed that the bike only has 11,000m. Felt very tight !

Here's a couple of pic from this week...

Now MOT'd this afternoon - sailed though.
The bikes now pulling great - it just needed a little dust off - lol - (it may have helped that I tightened the throttle screws on the bars - LOL)
At the moment its on stock suspension settings - but its close enough (I'm only 64kg) & also would rather ride it a little before fiddling..

But very very happy with this one.

Thanks Douglas, As with everything they have taken a fair amount of time & effort to get into that state - lol
I'm almost happy with them - just have to repaint the blue one (full respray) & the fuel tank on the white one - then I'll be happy...

Totally impressed with the finish on those bikes. I am envious. Was going to repaint mine this winter but decided to wait until after my June 2020 Alaska trip, then do that next winter. Maybe I will strive for such a quality finish on my old bitch. No graphics this time around though.
