Gutted stock exhaust

    I’m not much of a wrench but I wanted a bit more thunder on the cheap. I gutted my stock exhaust.
    I never heard one in person and it’s hard to get a feel for the tone and dB level with videos.
    I removed the exhaust (‘04 red). Removed the heat shielding and bolt on end caps. I cut the exhaust end caps off in front of the weld with an amble grinder. I pulled the internas out in 1 piece. I used a cats claw and a hammer. One side took 20 hits and 5 minutes. The other side took 3 days and 1000 hits. I spread high temp permatex on the can and bolt on end cap. I attached these with stainless pop rivets.
    It sounds angry. Maybe a bit too angry? I just wanted to throw my experience out there. This can be done by a noob but the internals can be a bitch to get out.

    You know what. You’re right. I neglected how my louder exhaust would affect squirrelman’s image. I’ll put the guts back in. My bad.
