HI All. This VF500F2F has been sitting in my garage since 2013. The lockdown has finally sparked the project into life. I have two engines, built one from two, and although we've had some teething issues she is running OK now. I have always loved the RS750R racebike, so this bike is an homage to the 750. The RS500R has an NC30 tank the frame has been modified to take the tank with the original fuel tap, plus the seat unit is from a mid 80's RS250 (Ibelieve). Frame and wheels powdercoated - now seeking out the fairing. It's only a rattlecan paintjob, as I wanted that slightly battered works racer look. Anyway hope you like it

Hi and Welcome to the MadHouse:Welcome:

That looks like you have been making good use of the lock-down time. It will be interesting to see how you get on trying to make those fairings pick up the race styling cues. I am definitely looking forward to updates.

When you get time. please swing by the Introductions part of the forum and say Hi to the rest of the folks on here. You may want to update your forum profile to include an approximate location that way if you need help with the project you may find someone nearby willing to offer advice especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge:drink:.

    Take care ATGATT

Thanks SkiMad, intro's made. Rode it 'around the block yesterday, motor quiet, smooth and torquey, v pleased with the rattle can paint job... couple of options on the fairing and screen front now too..

Looks great out in the sunshine - I guess if you want to keep to Honda styling you could try and track down a front fairing set with inset headlights like the RVFR 400 models. It may need some tweeking to fit on a 500 but should suit that paint scheme well.

Thanks SkiMad. Basing the looks and colour scheme on this beastie. I have located a fairing for the RS1000 (Joey Dunlop water whale), and the manufacturers seem to think they can locate a twin headlamp top half. Even so I will be going for the endurance racer look - one asymetric headlamp and offset no. 3.

It’s an RS1000 (in-line 4) alright but not the water whale. The water whale was the RS1000RW otherwise known as the FWS1000 and was a V4.

Start a new thread, you will get more exposure and better answers. RS500R hasn't even been talking about different rims.
