Went this afternoon to see my new leftover 2017 being prepped for delivery at my dealer. Picking it up next week.

Disregard my earlier comment, that bike did make it to North America/Canada... the adventure version called VFR1200X. Saw one on Sunday, quite impressive. Not many sold, so they are rare... DCT even more rare.
I was confused with the CrossRunner, the VFR800X. That I would like to have also.

RaYzerman, 800 miles so far on my new VFR1200X. I’m really enjoying it. The 1239cc V4 is awesome, the ergonomics are very good, and it’s in its element on high speed roads with sweeping turns. No slouch on tight curve country roads in mountains or on super highways either. It is beautifully put together — typical for a Honda.

It’s not really engineered for serious off-road low traction riding, but not a concern for me. It’s not exactly flickable in turns, but handles well for a 608 lb bike. The lack of cruise control is a drawback for some folks but I don’t care. The bike was designed a decade ago so no TFT instrumentation. Again, I don’t need that. Riders under about 5’8” tall might be uncomfortable on the bike due to its seat height and overall size.

Great 120 mile circuit around Western Connecticut this morning pushed the odometer over 1000 miles during the first month with my new VFR1200X.

Awesome! Nice looking riding there! I just hit 950 miles on mine, replaced tires with Dunlop Roadsmart 3s. Really handles well if your not gonna venture off road.

Jacob... a suggestion.. tape up your shoelaces when you ride..... .very possible you may get into a spot where you a surprised that you cant get your foot down at stop...
    (or get something without laces)

    (Dont ask how I know...)

Mello Dude, good point. Did you actually drop your bike when your lace got tangled in the foot peg? My riding shoes’ laces are long enough I might be able to just stuff them into the shoes, but tape could work. When it’s not so hot I wear my Dainese boots.

Seem like I remember it on the left shift lever ..... I didn't go down but a quick shake on the bars got me leaning to to right side and foot down.. And then a determined effort to rip the left foot free. -Prolly would have been a good video....... nothing like a realization panic for a second on the bike that you may be effed and need to make a quick decision.....

Definitely tuck in the laces, or go get yourself a pair of Bates G8 tactical boots (Goretex) with side zipper, still has laces but tuck them in permanently. Most comfortable boots I have worn and reasonably inexpensive. Comfy all day long.
I hooked a lace on my running shoes in the right footpeg curb feeler while parking my FJR. I didn't have the kickstand down yet, and the bike leaned left on me... as I shifted my weight to prevent a tipover, shoelace got caught and I actually pulled the bike over more... down we went. Fortunately I had crash bars, but I did manage to scrape up my mirrors. Wouldn't want that to happen on the street while riding, it could be quite disastrous as it will throw your balance off.

I have a pair of these Gaerne boots. Very comfortable on and off the bike. Still going strong after four years. No laces so don’t have to worry about them catching.

I’ve been tucking the laces into my Dainese riding shoes this week and I’ve ordered a pair of LOCK-LACES for boots from Amazon to see if they work and seem less likely to cause a problem while riding. The “loose” ends of these laces are designed to tuck securely underneath the part of the laces that are under tension. I’ll report on the LOCK-LACES once I can test them.

When the weather turns cooler I’ll be back to wearing my Dainese Fulcrum Gore-Tex touring boots that close with zippers and Velcro.

These LOCK-LACES for boots seem like a much safer solution for laced motorcycle boots and riding shoes. This is what my Dainese Persepolis Air shoes look like with the original laces replaced with LOCK-LACES for boots. A ten minute and $10 safety measure to remove the risk of tangled laces at just the wrong moment.

@JacobH How much did you cost and which part of the country? In lookout for one in trade with NC700. So any tips would be helpful. Also if I am right there is only black and red in US. There is no silver/white as I see in England.

You can still find new ones throughout the U.S. mostly still in crates at Honda regional warehouses. Unless you find a dealer who already has one in stock they will get one for you from a regional warehouse. It just takes a few days to ship to the dealer. Generally, they are bikes built in 2017. All U.S. model VFR1200X’s are red. All U.S. 2016 model year bikes are black. No prior model year VFR1200X bikes were sold in the U.S. Plan to pay $10,000 or so plus tax, etc. for one of the leftover new 2017 VFR1200X’s. A very good deal!
