What is the settings limit for the front shocks dampening screws? Soft/hard? I decided to finally adjust my suspension after about a year of riding, and something does not add up. Left fork 7.5 turns, while the right one only 2 turns,... Am I missing oil, or different shocks left and right?

If you have shocks in the front they have really screwed things up :)
However if you referring to the forks, the damping screws should be set the same. All the way in is hard, you normally count back from there. I don’t know on the 8G, but my guess would be somewhere 1 to 2 turns out
You’re talking about the rebound damping screws as opposed to the spring sag screws?

    Gday Veefer,
    2014 Front suspension adjustment-
Spring Preload can be adjusted by turning the adjuster, turning clockwise increases spring preload.
Preload adjuster standard position is 4th groove /14mm (0.2" in)from top. Adjustable range is 6-21mm (0.2-0.8in) from top.
Rebound Damping Adjuster Do not turn the adjusters more than given positions or the adjusters may be damaged.
Turn rebound adjuster the small screw in the middle clockwise until it stops (fully hard position) then turn the adjuster counterclockwise 1 turn out for standard. The total rebound adjuster range is 1-4/5 -2-2/5 turns. Not a lot...

If you are getting 7.5 turns on the Rebound Damping adjuster you have an issue. Oil level does not affect this. It sounds like the forks have been serviced at some stage and not reassembled correctly or The damper rod locknut sounds like it may have come loose.

It is not a difficult job to remove forks and fix the problem, unless the damping rod is damaged or broken, but you won't know till further investigation. Or take it to a Bike Suspension specialist and get their thoughts.

Oh, Yes, I am talking about the front shocks. And spring preload on the left front, and the right front. 3 and 4 notches respectively ‍♂️ damper adjustment on the left goes 7.5 turns, while right shock only has 2.25 turns lock to lock limit.

    Thanks Pete.
Yes, I might have an issue here, will be seeing the steeler first thing in the morning, and see if my extended warrenty extends to this particular clown assembly. Before adjusting, noticed 3 notches spring preload on left and 4 notches spring preload adjusted on the right front shocks.

Yes the preload adjuster on my 2019 VFR turns with little resistance before it ‘catches’ and starts to positively engage each level of adjustment.
I’m about 88-90kg (190 ish lbs) in my riding kit and I have wound the rear all the way in so it’s only showing 3 lines on the barrel of the adjuster cyclinder. That works very well for me.

Always amazed that dealers don’t at least set the sag for new riders when they hand over the bike. They should at least ask if you are aware sag should be set, and if you know how to do it. It should only take 5 min for a dealership to do this. Surely not too much to ask.
