After selling 4 bikes last week, 2 new members of the herd came home this weekend.

the 2010 Rossi Edition Yamaha R1 will need a wee bit of ABS repair (tip over), ill be looking for some OEM parts to put back on (levers and front turn signals etc). I did get alot of the OEM parts (Exhaust, Rear signals and a few other bits). Ill also be removing the alarm system thats on it too.

The '89 Honda CB1 is pretty clean, I may do some work on the tank (re-clear it) and the engine paint has a few shitty spots. The bike came with alot of spares and very good documentation history.

I dont plan on starting any work on these until next winter, I need some winter projects to keep me occupied. I will however focus on collecting parts for them in the meantime.

I may video record and put these "restos " on youtube. I kinda wish I'd recorded the VF1000R's restos, however....

BTW I accept any forum penalty points that I may incur as a result of posting a picture of a Yamaha here

Well, those are bitchin'. 1st handlebar conversion on a CB-1 I think I've seen.

Here's the one I restored for my wife.

I recently made a deal on some parts locally for the CB-1. Works Performance shock, some Japanese Beet side covers, new cables, chain guard, and a few other odds and ends.

Anyway... loving the new bikes. Congrats.

Nice job on the CB1 Capn'

Ill be putting the stock clip ons back on mine (it came with them). Ill be back in touch with the guy I got it from at the end of the summer when he gets back from his out-of-province work. He has a pile of parts and a CB1 race bike in a seaCan container, I get first dibs.

TIP: The rear brake light lens is very common. Source another one, and you can pop the side reflectors off. They usually release from the super glue-like adhesive pretty cleanly (at least the 3 I've done so far did). Then you can eliminate the spacer and have your tail light tucked nicely.

Here's another one I built along side mine (with some slight differences), and you can see the tucked light better.

Kerker was LOUD on my CB-1. The current Yosh set-up is better, but still LOUD. It does need to be repacked though, I just hate trying to get Yosh apart. There's nothing to pull on and they "weld" themselves together. I'm going back to the Sudco system soon I think anyway.

Sudco is a good exhaust. My sons Kerker is packed to the gills and is has a manageable decibel level but them again he’s young .... :)

Isn't that CBX an 81 model? I had one just like it and it was an 81. I worked at a Honda dealer back then and the 82 models were white with blue stripes.

In any case great looking set of motos!

When I was younger I worked part-time at a Honda dealership, and we used a couple of CBX's as shop bikes to run errands on...

Those bikes look like terrific investments 6dog!

No Apologies required, in a thread like this, we are all happy to see the hoards that everyone brings home.
